The Cornish Pizza Company
Walking into the Cornish Pizza Company HQ kitchen in St Agnes, the first thing that hits you is the sumptuously tempting smell of baking dough wafting tantalisingly through the store. Decked out with terracotta floors, brilliant colours, local artworks and the de rigueur surf-board (it is Aggie after all), street pizza is big and tasty.
All the pizzas are named after Cornish engine houses, which makes interesting reading and a little Cornish learning.
Not just a take-away, the Cornish Pizza Company are a small artisan boutique selling goodies. Happily they are also licensed to sell booze – all the Cornish classics perfect for an evening eating pizza and drinking cider at Chapel Porth beach.
Jon and Vicki escaped to Cornwall, after narrowly missing heading off to Croatia instead, but they fell in love with the county, and after a stint living on a campsite in Perranporth they found their niche creating artisan pizza.
All the pizzas are named after Cornish engine houses, which makes interesting reading and a little Cornish learning. The toppings are a mix of the traditional suspects to innovative combos created in their kitchen. They began with the base – the crux of a good pizza, just ask any aficionado, is the base. Consulting Baker Tom they collaborated to roll a pretty delish dough base. All the pizzas are cooked fresh to order on a stone base and all ingredients are sourced as locally as possible.
Order up from the Cornish Pizza Company, swing by and grab your take-away for some beach eating, or get it delivered for lazy summer evenings in… plus quality street food has also gone mobile! So check out the whereabouts of the retro van and hunt it down for pizza-goodness. Happy days.
