The Taphouse, St Agnes

The Taphouse, St Agnes

You can’t miss The Taphouse in St Agnes. It is a bright little beacon of delicious fun. From gourmet burgers and nachos to pizzas and surf ‘n’ turf the food is spot on and the atmosphere is fab.

This is a relaxed, informal venue that fits right in with that special Aggie vibe: sense of community, a little edgey, a bit cool, but welcoming and catering for everyone.

At the weekend the bar is transformed into a dance venue for live acts and DJs; the place is often packed as lunchtime chairs and tables are replaced with the weekend crowd, a mix of locals, surfers and Tappie fans coming in from out of town. Thanks to connections in the music industry, The Taphouse attracts bands that would normally be out of their league such as Ruarri Joseph, Newton Faulkner (who crashed in the flat upstairs for a few weeks) and Angus and Julia Stone who declared on Jools Holland that The Taphouse was their favourite gig ever.

This is a relaxed, informal venue that fits right in with that special Aggie vibe: sense of community, a little edgy, a bit cool, but welcoming and catering for everyone. It is certainly flavour of the moment in the town itself and you’d be hard pushed to find a better place to drink a pint and chill in the sunshine.
