Taking place throughout November and December this year, 2023’s line up of Christmas markets in Cornwall inspires sheer joy. With multi-generational appeal, the whole family can get involved in these Yuletide activities and celebrate together. So that you can dive straight into the action, here are some of the must-visit markets across the county this year:  

Healey’s Christmas Market, Truro

11th November - 17th December 2023

Healey’s Christmas Markets are usually held every weekend from mid-November to mid-December, providing ample opportunity to get into the Christmas spirit this year. Transforming this renowned cider farm into a winter wonderland for all generations, there will be something for everyone, from storytelling on the farm for the little ones and gin and cyder tasting for the grown ups.

Bedruthan Christmas Fayre

18th - 19th November 2023

Commencing the start of Christmas festivities in Cornwall is Bedruthan Christmas Fayre. An annual celebration held at The Bedruthan overlooking the golden sands of Mawgan Porth, this unmissable event brims with festive energy and proposes a wealth of things to see and do. Head over to uncover the festive line up, including workshops, Christmas crafts, artisan stalls, children’s play areas, and views over endless Atlantic seas.

Cornwall Christmas Fair, the Eden Project

22nd - 23rd November 2023

See the iconic Eden biomes adopt a beautiful blue cloak in celebration of 2023’s Christmas festivities this year. Set across two days from 22nd to 23rd November, Cornwall Christmas Fair at the Eden Project will tempt revellers with an array of Christmas gifts, ethical fashion, jewellery, skincare, mouth-watering food and lots more. What’s more, 15% of all takings will be donated to the Cornwall Community Foundation.

Charlestown Christmas Markets

25th - 26th November 2023

Known for its olde-world charm and historic tall ships that grace its harbour, Charlestown boasts one of the most magical settings for Christmas festivities in Cornwall. This year, you can visit the Charlestown Christmas market to revel in the wide array of high quality food and drink, gifts and crafts from Cornish producers as Christmas choirs and bands chime out a soundtrack of old-time classics.

Truro Christmas Market

29th November - 24th December 2023

Taking place across the picturesque Lemon Quay each winter is the Truro Christmas Market. A wonderful celebration of Christmas, the event promises the finest local food, drink, arts and crafts – all with a special Christmas twist. With the event spanning a month, you’ll have plenty of time to dip in and out and soak up the magical atmosphere of this most festive time of year and pick out your favourite pieces to pop under the tree. The markets are open every day from 9am to 5pm, and from 9am to 9pm on Wednesdays. 

Porthleven Christmas Market

1st - 3rd December 2023

This year’s Porthleven Christmas Market will take place with a beautiful backdrop of the sea. Held inside the Shipyard Market and along the illuminated harbour, the market sees stallholders from all over the local area come together to share their Christmas wares, from Cornish candles to silver jewellery inspired by the sea. For the nippers, there will also be the chance to meet Santa, too.

Padstow Christmas Market

7th - 10th December 2023

One of the most widely anticipated events in Cornwall’s Christmas calendar is the Padstow Christmas Market, a 4-day event held around the town’s famous harbour from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th December 2023. With all the ingredients for the perfect festive celebration, Padstow’s market promises celebrity chefs, foodie demonstrations, festive food and drink, fireworks, live music, a lantern parade and much more.  

Fowey Christmas Market

8th - 10th December 2023

One of Cornwall’s most well-known festivals, Fowey’s Christmas Market is held throughout this idyllic port town and welcomes more than 10,000 Christmas fans every year. Set to take place in early December this year, it offers you a head start on celebrations with a whole range of stalls selling festive gifts and goodies, as well as unmissable activities such as carol singing outside of the church. 

Falmouth’s Festive Weekend

 

9th - 10th December 2023

Think Falmouth’s Festive Weekend, think ice-skating, ice curling, land trains, festive stalls, mulled wine, live choirs and much, much more. One of the festive highlights of the county, this Christmas festival in Cornwall has something for everyone and promises ample to see and do. You can even look forward to snowy streets, thanks to the town’s snow machines and their brilliant water-based, eco-friendly snow!

Mount Edgcumbe Christmas Fayre, Torpoint

9th - 10th December 2023

Ready to imbue Christmas cheer, Mount Edgcumbe is set to host a fantastic Christmas fayre in their historic house by the sea. Featuring over seventy stalls selling all sorts of mouth-watering foodie goods and local artisan gifts, there will be something to see at every turn, perfect for both treating yourself and sharing with loved ones. Head over this Christmas for a full programme of festive frivolities, including live entertainment, family-friendly activities, stilt walkers and Santa’s Grotto. 

Crooklets Beach Hut Christmas Market, Bude

 

9th - 10th December 2023

In December this year, Bude’s seafront beach huts will be turned into festive hubs ready to welcome you for a novel Christmas market experience. Venture over and browse the array of stalls selling everything from driftwood art to pet treats to mulled wine, and enjoy the jovial atmosphere and backdrop of rolling Atlantic waves. Once you’ve procured all your favourite stocking fillers, you can take to the waves for a pre-Christmas surf or head to Crooklets café for a winter warmer.

Jubilee Wharf Christmas Fair

16th - 17th December 2023

Nestled at the head of the Penryn River, the picturesque Jubilee Wharf overlooks peaceful, tidal waterways fringed by trees. A creative hub, this waterside space in Penryn has been hosting a beloved Christmas market for over a decade and beckons with more festive fun this year.
