A waterside idyll on a tidal tributary of the River Fowey, Ophelia resides in the picturesque village of Lerryn. Beckoning for moments of enchantment, it promises space for families and friends to settle into a relaxed rhythm punctuated by the ebb and flow of the tide. Wake up to coral-coloured sunrises dancing off the water, before stepping onto the outside sundeck with your favourite blend as the day comes to life. Enjoying a huge array of things to see and do on your doorstep and only a stone's throw from many of South Cornwall's highlights, you can spend each day paddleboarding on the river, strolling along the coast, and savouring delicious farm-to-fork repasts curated in local culinary favourites or by your own private chef. With stunning interiors and an ever-changing backdrop that evolves with time and tide, fairytale sojourns rewrite the everyday at Ophelia.

Living

Immerse yourself in the tranquillity of your own private haven and relish the unending bliss of the sumptuous living areas of Ophelia. Dressed in soothing tones, the main lounge presents large patio doors that command gorgeous views of the estuary and open to the wood deck outside. Bathed in natural light from large windows and warmed by a wood burning stove, this heavenly space is perfect for slow moments throughout the day, curled up with a page turner or gathered with loved ones. Offering entertainment is a hidden TV with Sky, while providing comfort are sumptuous, brown leather sofas arranged around a wood-topped coffee table. For fireside tipples, a drinks cabinet is stocked with a complimentary selection of Cornish gins.

Perfect for movie nights, an additional snug-come-cinema room resides on the ground floor, with a door leading to the second patio and outdoor shower. Exuding comfort, it features a vibrant red leather sofa and Persian footstool, as well as a sixty-five-inch Sky TV with an Xbox and selection of boardgames and books.

Eating and dining

A gorgeous space for relaxing, gathering and cooking, the beautiful kitchen fuses country charm with refined Mediterranean-style influences, overlooking the river through two sets of patio doors. Around the room, closed cabinets and open wood shelves are tastefully paired with Moroccan-inspired tiles, dressed in white and pastel blues. Proposing delicious family repasts is a green Aga, while offering a choice of seating are family-sized dining tables both inside the kitchen and outside on the adjoining sundeck. Push open the patio doors on balmy days and let the fresh air flood into the kitchen as heaped plates are served around the table. For slow moments that encourage you to linger a little longer, a Nespresso coffee machine, drinks fridge and ice machine promise refreshing drinks, ready to be enjoyed with a backdrop of the river and the soundtrack of lapping water. For added convenience is an adjoining utility area with a double Belfast sink, wood-topped work surfaces and an array of accoutrements.

Sleeping and bathing

Residing on the first floor, the master bedroom stars a beautiful Feather & Black bed and enjoys soul-stirring views over the river. A tranquil space for restful slumber, it features calming hues and abundant natural light. Painted wooden wainscoting draws the eye, while integrated fitted wardrobes provide space to stow treasures. Hugging the bed are two bedside tables, while an elegant dressing table sits beside the window. This bedroom is completed with an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower with earthy Moroccan tiles.

Calling for slow mornings and restful nights, the second bedroom is simply a delight. Light-filled and airy, it features a super king bed that can be arranged as twin beds as required. On the walls, relaxing tones and tasteful artwork nod to hazy summers and tranquil climes, while a large wardrobe and chest of drawers meld organic materials and textures and provide space for belongings. This bedroom is finished with an ensuite bathroom, decorated with blue and white Moroccan-inspired tiles and equipped with both a bath and a separate shower for soothing soaks.

The gorgeous third bedroom awaits with a super king bed that can be transformed into twin beds. With nautical inspired tones and décor, it features off-white walls, a gently sloping ceiling and painted wainscoting complemented by wooden floors and furnishings. Enswathing the bed are the finest linens and super-soft pillows and throws, while either side of the bed are bedside tables topped with matching lamps for gentle mood lighting. This bedroom presents a wardrobe and chest of drawers and is paired with a family bathroom opposite, where a heavenly nickel, roll top bath with handheld shower takes pride of place.

The fourth bedroom is centred around a sumptuous king bed facing floor-to-ceiling windows, beyond which a private patio awaits with a bistro set and peaceful water fountain. For the sweetest dreams, it is enveloped with a dreamy duvet and the softest linens. A kingfisher blue velvet headboard and aquamarine embellishments add natural inflections, nodding to the country and coastal surrounds. For storage, there is a small wardrobe and chest of drawers, while for comfort and convenience, this bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower with tasteful geometric tiles.

There is an additional bathroom in the cloakroom in the downstairs hallway.

Outdoor space

Inviting for laidback hours in the open air, the outdoor space at Ophelia offers space for riverside relaxation and following the sunshine throughout the day. Particularly enticing for dining together, the first floor promises the best of outdoor living with a river-view sundeck. Styled with a family dining table and chairs and comfortable lounge seating, it also boasts an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue, fridge and sink - perfect for alfresco feasts and Champagne toasts under star-studded skies. A heavenly hot tub resides at Ophelia, just made for serene staycation moments overlooking its mesmeric waterside setting.

Below, a lawned garden offers space for morning yoga and afternoon games, and comes with a selection of children's garden games. For a tale of two halves, the back garden imbues a magical woodland feel and provides additional space for relaxing and socialising with an informal table and chairs. In summer, make use of the back garden's sun loungers for sweet repose, and in winter, light the outdoor firepit ready to be warmed by the amber glow. For water-based adventures, two adult's and a child's SUP can be found in the garage for river paddles.
