Enchanting Star Haze is tucked away in the heart of Mousehole, a quintessential fishing village, just 300 yards from the sea and the beach and set within a cluster of fisherman's cottages nestled snugly around the harbour. Restaurants, pubs and galleries are waiting to be explored from this delightful little luxury cottage in Cornwall.
There are two living areas, both on the first floor of this stylish luxury retreat, making the most of the light which floods in morning and afternoon from both ends of this open and airy space. The reading nook captures the morning sun so snuggle up in the deep blue Alpaca throw and cuddle up on the chaise longue which offers views of the clock tower and over the rooftops to a glimpse of the sea. A writing desk is set by the window with WiFi and a phone for incoming calls and outgoing UK landlines along with a traditional French table and chairs, making this a delightful space ideal for catching up on emails, writing your postcards or simply snoozing on a Sunday afternoon.
Go through the double doors into the living room, where the window seat catches the evening sun and the thick granite wall houses a roaring wood burner that will keep you warm and toasty even if winter storms batter the harbour walls outside. The sofa faces the high definition Smart TV which is complete with wireless keyboard and mouse, so you can use your own online TV accounts. There is also an iPod docking station/digital radio as well as a small collection of vintage Cornish books and some traditional games. The owner has added some of her personal collection of precious finds; a GEC metal fan, wooden theodolite lamp base and an original angle poise lamp. Both of these rooms are enhanced by atmospheric original oil paintings of Cornwall and fused glass art by Cornish artists. Due to the higgledy piggledy nature of the properties near the harbour in Mousehole there is part of another cottage over some of Star Haze.
The beamed kitchen is on the ground floor, entered through the little sheltered porch, with a 'Kitchen Maid' airer for your beach towels or wets suits. Go through the Cornish Blue stable door and feel the welcome of the heated stone floor which runs throughout the ground floor kitchen and bathroom to keep you super warm and toasty. Vintage crockery is displayed on the beams. Granite worktops, butlers sink and rustic tiles alongside modern appliances add more than a touch of luxury to this very well equipped hideaway; the washer/dryer is here, as is the fridge, dishwasher, microwave and electric hob and oven, not forgetting the coffee machine and the delightful T. G. Green Cornishware crockery. A table is set by the window for you to enjoy a warm, romantic meal for two in the window seat, snuggle up by shutting the traditional shutters.
Star Haze has a cosy beamed en-suite bedroom on the ground floor with a solid oak heated floor and basement window. A king size bed with drawers under, a silk filled duvet, a divine cuddly Mongolian cashmere throw, a vintage French linen covered bed head and quirky industrial lights with retro bulbs, all finished with soft and fluffy pillows, crisp bed linen and some cleverly designed storage space make this a soothing retreat and a perfect place to snuggle down at the end of the day. To complete this room there is a second iPod dock/digital radio next to the bed, another smart high definition TV, plus a selection of novels.
The en-suite bathroom (with door to dining area) is luxuriously modern with full under floor heating to ensure you are lovely and warm. There is a heated warmer for your fluffy white towels after a soak in the bath or for an invigorating shower after a day walking the cliffs, surfing or simply pottering around on Mousehole beach collecting shells.
Whilst there isn't parking at Star Haze you can do a bag drop then park your car in one of the harbourside car parks nearby.
