Barn Owl Roost overlooks an emerald green valley, surrounded by over 70 acres of arable farmland and is very private - perfect for a secluded getaway. It's a paradise for dogs with plenty of walks from your front door and the one-level property with slate flooring throughout means they'll be happy inside too. The owner can arrange a dog-sitting service so if you want to go out and leave your dog in safe hands, they'll be well looked after. You may glimpse a partridge or a guinea fowl from the window - they are bred nearby and like to roam around!
The front door opens up to a light and airy space with vaulted ceilings, slate flooring with under floor heating and thoughtful lighting throughout. To the left, plush cream sofas face French windows that can be opened up in the warmer weather to bring the countryside in to you. In cooler weather the stunning wood burner makes the space ultra-cosy, making it perfect for curling up on the sofa and watching a film with a glass of red to hand. To keep everyone entertained there is Sky TV with a full Sky Sports package and a Sonos system to wirelessly listen to music.
A bespoke kitchen, in a country-style cream, boasts cool slate work surfaces and pale blue tiles. With all the usual mod cons including a Bosch oven, hob and microwave, a dishwasher and a Nespresso machine, and being really very well stocked equipment-wise, this is a great space for cooking - perfect for preparing some fresh fish bought straight from the harbour's edge in Padstow. A utility room houses the washer/dryer and freezer. A pretty farmhouse-style dining table and benches sit close to the kitchen whilst outside on the patio there's a table and chairs to eat al fresco - perfect for watching the sun creep higher in the sky at breakfast, or the orange glow of sunset turn to an inky blackness over dinner.
Barn Owl Roost has two lovely double bedrooms. The master has a king-size bed, en suite bathroom, huge hand-crafted wardrobes and more than a nod to the owner's love of all things country. The second bedroom is very similar in style and size and has a super king-sized bed which is 'zip and link' meaning it can be made into twin beds if necessary - just let us know at the time of booking. Soft cotton bedding is used in both, with warm red throws in the master bedroom and calming greens in the second.
The en suite to the master bedroom has a roomy shower and beautifully made light yellow cabinets, marble surfaces and natural stone tiles. The family bathroom with exposed beams has a bath with a huge drench-head shower, heated towel rail and lots of sea-green shelving space. Molton Brown toiletries are thoughtfully provided in both, alongside thick, fluffy white towels.
There is a huge patio to the front, perfect for al fresco dining with a large outdoor suite and BBQ and has great views of the rolling hills opposite.
The house is fully WiFi connected so you can keep in touch with the outside world if you need to.

"The quality and standard of the property are excellent in every way. With such attention to detail and level of comfort, the cottage is one of the very best we have stayed in. The owners are to be congratulated on their efforts- we have very much appreciated the results!" July 2015
"We have just returned from a wonderful week's holiday in this exceptional cottage. Superlatives don't really do justice to this extremely well-equipped, beautifully furnished cottage. Simply everything is of a high standard and the setting is perfect. Very friendly and approachable owners. Will definitely return!" May 2015
"We have just returned from a wonderful week here, we were at first attracted to Barn Owl due to the pictures you see and we were amazed to find that the Roost was even higher quality than it looks; everything about it is taken to the highest possible nth. On meeting Robert the owner we found him to be extremely approachable and helpful, and he really liked Bruce our dog, almost as much as he liked him! We didn't have the greatest weather, but when you're in somewhere like this, that doesn't matter..." May 2015
"Wonderful property, very cosy and will certainly look forward to a return, 10 out of 10. It was all very easy to book, excellent description and thoughtful booking details prior to the trip." January 2017
