This lovely converted barn is set in 75 acres of rolling countryside and lies very close to Padstow, the foodie centre of Cornwall. The ethos of this retreat is comfort and style, and is great whether you want to hunker down or get out and about; it also benefits from a patio which sees a great deal of sun and a stunning heated indoor swimming pool, steam room, gym and deck overlooking the countryside. This is also one of our dog-friendly retreats, and with lots of fantastic walks on your doorstep you'll be spoilt for choice for where to head to first.
The living area is open plan and features a fantastic wood burner for those chilly nights and a huge, plush corner sofa which is upholstered in soft dove-grey leather. There's a large flat-screen TV/DVD (complete with Sky package for when you want a night in) and a lovely painting by local artist Jethro Jackson which dominates the far wall. With a stunning Cornish slate floor and exposed beams, this retreat is set over two levels; French windows open out to the communal courtyard so that on warmer days you can drift in and out as much as you want.
The duck-egg blue kitchen with black granite worktops and sky-blue tiles has everything you would want in a kitchen; gas hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer dryer are accompanied by a full complement of tools to help both the well-established and budding chef. The lovely long wooden dining table and benches are to the side of the kitchen so you can chat to each other whilst preparing and serving - ideally with a glass of something scrummy in your hand.
This roomy retreat sleeps six and there are three bedrooms. The master benefits from an en suite whilst there is one further double and a double which has a zip-and-link bed, meaning it can be made handily into twins if required. All the beds are super-soft and 6ft in size and are beautifully furnished with hand-built wardrobes and dressing tables, quality linens, cosy blankets and throws.
The en suite to the master bedroom has a bath with a separate walk-in flower head shower, heated towel rail and soft-stone tiling. There is also a further shower-room with very roomy walk-in shower. Both have lots of storage space and great lighting.

"Linhay house is one of the most beautiful countryside retreats I have stayed at. Beautifully renovated with modern touches whilst still feeling that you are in the heart of the countryside. Everything you need is there, views, comfort, accessibility to the coast and towns, and on top of that, a stunning swimming pool and gym. Situated on a working farm, it was great for families and people looking for a special little get away. I can't wait to go back!! - Tom Kerridge 2017
"Exceeded our expectations. Truly was a home from home with all the comforts you could wish for. Extremely difficult to find child and dog friendly accommodation of this quality" - June 2016
"Just a quick note to say that we had a fantastic time and that the property was absolutely perfect, by far exceeding our expectations. We have struggled to find accommodation of that quality that was both child and dog friendly. The owners were most welcoming, fantastic hosts and certainly have something going with the properties they are offering. We really did not want to come home - helped somewhat by glorious bank holiday weather - but we will DEFINITELY be back. Thank you very much" - May 2016
"Stunning and beautiful accommodation" - March 2016
