Eating out
For a small village there are a surprising number of fantastic places to eat, including two Nathan Outlaw restaurants - Outlaw's Fish Kitchen (which has one Michelin star) and Restaurant Nathan Outlaw (which has two Michelin stars) - make sure to book as soon as you can in advance as these are very popular! There are lots of other top-notch eateries such as The Mote and the 17th century Port Gaverne Restaurant nearby. For something a little more laid back, head to The Krab Pot. Ultimately seafood is very much the name of the game here, and you'll be spoilt for choice.
In the Area
Set within such beautiful countryside on the north Cornish coast, there's plenty to do in and around Port Isaac which served as the setting for the TV series 'Doc Martin' and is also the home of The Fisherman's Friends. From cliff top walks (Port Isaac to Port Gaverne is lovely and less than 2 miles) and strolling around the local galleries and shops. to fishing trips from the harbour (during the summer season) and relaxing on nearby beaches such as Polzeath and Daymer Bay, you'll not want for things to do. You can also step out on to the fantastic Camel Trail or South West Coast path - perfect for walking and cycling. Just make sure to end in one of the cafes or tea rooms for a proper Cornish afternoon tea.
