Straight out of an Enid Blyton adventure,The Barn is in the heart of a working farm - piglets, ponies, lambs and chickens abound and it's a mere bridlepath's walk away from Point waterfront.
The living room is a generous open plan space with a country kitchen at the far end. Exposed original rafters and a state of the art Nordpeis Norwegian wood burner in the centre of the room add to the rustic feel. Spend cosy evenings in watching old films by the fire and relax after a day's dog walking through the Cornish countryside. With sheepskins to snuggle in produced from the barn's very own sheep, a giant TV and DVD player you'll struggle to leave this cosy retreat.
The Barn has a proper country kitchen but with all the mod cons you could wish for in this luxury retreat in Cornwall. You couldn't be better placed to grab lots of locally sourced farm produce like freshly laid eggs and joints of sumptuous lamb to get slow-roasting in the range cooker. The wood burner has a useful hot plate for toasting teacakes - the perfect way to bring traditional charm to your stay.
An upside down retreat means the bedrooms are downstairs. The master bedroom, which looks out onto the terrace garden, has a deliciously king sized bed. Opposite is the cosy children's bedroom which can be made up with two single beds - the room is petite, but very beautiful!
Downstairs is a simply fabulous wetroom style bathroom with a shower to scrub off the country air and sea salt!
The Barn's first floor sundeck is perfect for whiling away the time with a glass or two of fizz whilst looking out over the old apple orchard. There is also a rear ground floor terrace garden surrounded by natural Cornish willow fence - a secure, enclosed and private spot ideal for basking in the sunshine or using the BBQ to cook up an al fresco storm. There are spare stables for you to store bikes and canoes too. The Barn is in the heart of working farm Lower Tresithick and the owners are happy for you to run free-range across the fields, though please be aware of the farm animals - especially if you are bringing your dog.
The owners use all their own sustainable wood from the farm so why not try your hand at becoming a country wood cutter for the day, tone up those muscles and split your own... failing that, a pre-cut wood store is available for you to fill your basket and be on your way!
The Barn has a spacious parking area just for guests with room for your own John Deer should you want to travel in style! On the outside of the property, a light will be left on for you to see your way.
The Barn is fully WiFi ready, so if you need to keep in touch with the outside world you can.
A dog is very welcome. We charge £30 per dog per week or short break.
"We had the most fantastic stay at the old barn. I think it was one of the nicest holidays we've had. Our daughter absolutely loved it, and the barn was so well-equipped with toys for her. The Owners are so helpful and we will definitely be going back. All in all, a wonderful place to stay." March 2015
"Outstanding property, perfect for our needs, lovely hosts, and great location for exploring Cornwall. Would love to go back again" May 2015
"It was everything we expected - a country home from home. The hosts welcomed us with some Cornish goodies and were on hand with useful information but never intruded on our privacy. The weather could have been kinder but they could not. The farm location was beautiful with lambs in the paddock, chickens pecking about and we even saw a badger in broad daylight in the horse fields. Easy access to Trelissick Gardens, and Roseland peninsula, picturesque fishing villages and Falmouth/Truro. No need to travel further afield unless you want to. We didn't so it was a very relaxing break" - May 2016
"We had a perfect holiday and didn't want to leave. The Barn is beautiful, very comfortable and in a great location. The owners were so kind and friendly and really made us all feel welcome. Our twelve year old boys were in paradise exploring and helping out on the farm." August 2016
