The Corn Mill is a picture-perfect rose clad home nestled in the sleepy hamlet of Heasley Mill, complete with village green, tumbling stream and the wilds of the Exmoor National Park just a couple of miles up the hill. The Corn Mill was originally the focal point of the village and after being beautifully renovated it has been brought back to life with heart and soul by its owner. With exquisite style and comfort in mind, this is a retreat perfect for families and groups of friends but also makes an idyllic love nest for two.

The living room lies on the first floor and is a haven for all things cosy; think wooden beams, polished wooden floors, whitewashed walls, toasty wood burner and soft, comfy sofas. Perfect for curling up with a good book or an evening together over a glass of something special, this space is laid back and lovely - just what you need when getting away from it all. Out of the window you'll spot views to the village green and the countryside beyond. When a movie night calls, there's a HD TV, a Blu Ray/DVD player and a good selection of films and board games to choose from. In the dining area there's a wide selection of books as well.
Wow - the kitchen and dining area at The Corn Mill is absolutely stunning and is definitely the heart of the home. With a fabulous cream Rayburn that is always kept lit, separate oven and hob, lovely Belfast sink, Tassimo coffee maker and all the knobs and whistles you might need to rustle up the perfect meal, even the most experienced of chefs won't be left wanting here. Classic cream cupboards, wooden work surfaces and a huge work station island (with incredible reclaimed lighting) means there is plenty of room for people to gather. The dining table is at the far end of the room and is homage to the mill's history - the old mill stone forms the base of the glass table and makes for a great conversation piece! In warmer weather there's outside dining on the patio with a huge table and chairs.
There are four fabulous bedrooms - a ground floor master bedroom with king-sized bed and en suite wet room, a double bedroom on the first floor then a further king bedroom and twin bedroom on the second floor. Exquisitely decorated, each is filled with grand French beds, crisp linens and soft, woolly cushions and throws. This retreat is so quiet you'll fall asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow - bliss!
Bathing is very luxurious at The Corn Mill. The master bedroom en suite is a fabulously tiled wet room with flower head drench shower and under-floor heating whilst the family bathroom on the second floor boasts a shower and roll-top bath, perfect for a deep soak after a day out exploring. Heated towel rails ensure towels are fluffy and warm.
Why not sit in the front garden and watch real village life going on around you, or laze in privacy up on the decking on the rear terrace with a jug of Pimms and the sizzling smells of the barbecue on a summer's evening? On cooler nights wrap up in a cosy blanket with a hot toddy, watch the night stars and revel in the total lack of light pollution. There's a big lawn for playing and a fabulous dining table and chairs for al fresco feasts.
Three dogs are very welcome at Corn Mill. We charge £30 per dog per week or short break. The pretty front garden is enclosed.
Corn Mill has WiFi so if you need to get in touch with the outside world you can.
There is on road parking immediately outside the house, the hamlet is so quiet that there is always space to park your cars.
With Exmoor just on your doorstep, there are plenty of things to see and do. From the pastoral wonderland of Doone Valley to the dramatic coastline near Porlock, the natural beauty of this area is astounding and ideal for walking, cycling and horse riding. The wonderful north Devon surfing beaches of Saunton Sands, Croyde and Woolacombe are easy to get to and Instow offers gorgeous sandy beaches which are dog friendly all year round - these locations are very easy to get to from the retreat. The town of Dulverton, just a drive across the moors (in itself a must-do with the chance of seeing Exmoor ponies and red deer), is well worth a visit with little independent shops as well as a deli, butchers, bakery and farm shop whilst a pannier market is held in nearby South Molton - perfect for picking up some local goodies.
