Le Champignon Sauvage, Cheltenham

Le Champignon Sauvage, Cheltenham

Modestly situated and totally unpretentious, this great restaurant in the Suffolks area of Cheltenham is well worth a visit – but make sure to book ahead. Running since 1987, Le Champignon Sauvage offers a blend of French ‘terroir’ and modern cuisine.

The restaurant itself has simple and plain decor – very much taking a back seat to the theatre of the food. Expect such tasty morsels as butter poached lobster, roasted wood pigeon with black pudding cream and frozen bergamot parfait whilst the wine list is very impressive.
