Hidcote Manor Garden, near Chipping Campden

Hidcote Manor Garden, near Chipping Campden

A stone’s throw from Stratford-upon-Avon, this pretty Arts and Crafts style garden is a jewel in the Cotswolds and well worth a visit. Brim-full of secret gardens, outdoor ‘rooms’, stunning views and winding pathways, this is a lovely spot and an ideal place to visit to while away a few hours.

Unusual in its design, the 10.5 acres of gardens at Hidcote have been created in the style of ‘rooms’, each with their own character and charm. More formal nearer the house, they become less so as the gardens spread outwards until they blend effortlessly with the gorgeous rolling countryside.

Additionally, there is the lovely Barn Café and Winthrop’s Café when you need a break and a bite to eat. There’s also a National Trust shop where you can buy some goodies to take home, and a garden centre to pick up a plant or two if you’re feeling inspired and want a little piece of Hidcote growing in your own garden.

Although dogs aren’t allowed in the gardens, there are some fabulous walks from Hidcote in the surrounding countryside.
