Bamaluz Beach, St Ives

Bamaluz Beach, St Ives

One of two all year round dog-friendly beaches in St Ives, this sandy cove is ideal for those wanting to stretch their four legged friends’ legs whilst relaxing in the Cornish sunshine.

Found between St Ives harbour and Porthgwidden beach during low tide is the secret sandy cove known as Bamaluz Beach. At high tide, this pretty little bay is hidden away from the world – only when the tide is low can you walks down the stone steps and enjoy the golden dust in your toes away from the crowds. At midday, the beach is a lovely sun trap with the lightest of ocean breezes. As the sun moves, the high walls that surround Bamaluz provide a nice spot of shade which is perfect for protecting the littles ones during the height of Summer. One of the rare beaches that allows dogs all year round in St Ives, the whole family can enjoy the deep blue waters, the sandy beaches and jutting stones and boulders which are perfect for rock pooling.
