Earning itself its first Michelin star after only 11 months of new ownership, the Whitebrook restaurant and its staff are a force to be reckoned with.
Located in Whitebrook near Monmouth, the aptly named Whitebrook restaurant enjoys a peaceful setting in the Wye Valley National Landscape. In the summer, the restaurant’s outside seating is a joy, overlooking the gardens and lush woodland thick with life. Heading inside, the restaurant’s soothing tones and warm ambience are equally inviting, particularly cosy in the cooler months.
Run by Raymond Blanc-trained Head Chef Chris Harrod, the Whitebrook has a number of awards under its apron. Recognised for its outstanding food and service, it has also won awards for its wine and is one of only 39 restaurants in the UK to hold 4 AA Rosettes. Not only that, but Head Chef Chris was also featured on the TV series, the Great British Menu, serving his show-stopping “Suckling Pig” main course – awarded 10 out of 10 by the judges!

For a chance to try Chris’ Great British Menu dish, as well as a medley of delicious starters, mains and desserts, book yourself a table. With such a variety of flavours and tastes to discover, there is really only one way to experience it for yourself. And, with many ingredients freshly foraged by the team from the local area, exciting additions and twists are always being added.
Often using local herbs such as pennywort, bitter cress, wild onion, hogweed and more, the talented team look to bring the rich diversity of the surrounding area to the plate. As well as foraging ingredients, the Whitebrook sources other ingredients from local producers and farmers too. If you have special dietary requirements, the restaurant staff are only too happy to cater to your needs.
