St Petroc’s Bistro, Padstow

Located in the centre of Padstow not far from the waterfront, St Petroc’s Bistro should be on the list of any visiting foodie. Under the wing of famous Cornwall fanatic Rick Stein, the bistro is managed by a dedicated crew serving up Stein’s favourite dishes. Welcoming solo travellers, romantic duos and families with young children, everyone is welcome to take a seat.

Serving lunch between 12 and 3pm and dinner from 6.30 to 9.30pm every day, you can plan your day around your meal. Particularly pleasant on summer afternoons, a stroll around the town followed by a long drink outside one of Padstow’s bars is a lovely prelude to your evening meal. Once you arrive at the restaurant, wait to be shown your table and pour over the set menu and daily specials.

Presenting a range of dishes, St Petroc’s Bistro stays faithful to Stein’s love affair with seafood. With a section of the menu dedicated to fish and shellfish, the bistro provides a great opportunity to sample expertly cooked fruits de mer. From roasted hake with butter beans to the classic moules marinière to deep fried squid, you can test your adventurousness with delectable delicacies.

If you prefer sticking to ‘landlubbing’ food, the menu also has plenty of meat-based options, regularly including chicken and beef. Each one comes with carefully considered accompaniments, and you can also embellish dishes with a choice of sides, including kalettes, minted Cornish potatoes and chard. For the perfect drink to go with your meal, choose your favourite from the drinks menu or let the staff recommend one for you.

If you have special dietary requirements or preferences, the restaurant’s staff go to great lengths to make sure everyone is well-catered for. Including a children’s menu, vegetarian menu and gluten-free options too, everyone can find something to sink their teeth into and enjoy.
