Restaurant Four, Falmouth

Conveniently located right next door to the St Mawes Ferry in the centre of Falmouth, Restaurant Four is a superb eatery. Formerly known as Olivers, a hugely popular, award-winning restaurant, it reopened in 2019 under new ownership as Restaurant Four, ready to fill the big culinary boots of its predecessors.

Run by family-man and Head Chef Matthew Unwin-Springett, Restaurant Four was the realisation of Matthew’s life-long dream to open his very own restaurant. Having worked his way up from an eager pot-wash at the tender age of 15 and having perfected his craft, he now invites diners to come along and share his passion for food, sampling the culinary delights he meticulously crafts.

Founded on a ​love of honest fare, Matthew’s carefully curated menus take full advantage of the county’s abundance of fresh, local produce. Continually updated along with the regular supply of goodies delivered to the restaurant’s front door, the mouth-watering selection of repasts are all about flavoursome, honest tastes. Look out for inventive dishes that crop up as well as classic favourites, including Cornish fishcakes and roast chicken supreme.

As well as the daily menu, Restaurant Four also hosts belly-warming Sunday roasts and celebrates a number of special occasions throughout the year with bespoke menus, including Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. Celebrating or otherwise, book yourself a table for an evening meal or head in for a light lunch. If you have youngsters, they will also be able to enjoy choices all of their own with a children’s menu.

With varying opening hours throughout the week, you can look forward to lunches and dinners bursting with flavour. For a sneak peak, you can also book yourself a table at one of the restaurant’s taster sessions, held every month.
