We're beyond excited to welcome you to our first London retreat, nestled in the heart of the city close to The Shard and Tower Bridge. Carmarthen House is a peaceful, spacious wood-clad abode offering a hideaway amongst it all, providing a peaceful escape but with all the excitement of our capital just moments' away. Whether you're after a weekend city break or looking for a luxurious pad for a longer stay, a couple seeking a romantic escape or a family wanting to get to know our great city, Carmarthen House is just perfect, with two en suite bedrooms, open-plan living space and even a courtyard garden - plus it's dog friendly too! With fabulous restaurants and iconic sites on your doorstep, you couldn't ask for a more central spot for discovering London, and with all the luxurious touches of a Boutique Retreat, this is a stunning blend of boutique city living.

Living

Carmarthen House benefits from open plan living on the ground floor, with underfloor heating throughout.

The chic yet comfy sitting area is just a dream to relax in, boasting floor-to-ceiling windows which flood the polished concrete floor with dappled light. Overlooking the courtyard garden, it's a peaceful spot in which to unwind, with an L-shaped sofa to lounge on and a 65" OLED television to catch up on your favourite box sets or films. In addition, upstairs there's a tucked-away library with armchair, for those seeking a quiet moment or two, and a desk for those needing to catch up on some work or emails.

Eating

The kitchen and dining area is beautifully spacious and modern, fully equipped with all the essentials you'll need to rustle up meals with striking white worktops and paired-back, wooden cupboards. The kitchen is home to a Foster five-ring induction hob with pop-up extractor fan, Foster wall oven plus a separate multi-function oven (including a microwave) and warming drawer. In addition, there's an integrated Liebherr fridge freezer, dishwasher and all the other necessities including a Sage Oracle bean-to-cup coffee machine.

The sleek, generous dining table with eight leather Bo-Concept dining chairs overlook the courtyard garden.

We thoroughly recommend heading to Borough Market to pick up unique, local produce to cook in this delightful kitchen if you feel like eating in.

Sleeping and bathing

There are two exquisitely modern, en suite bedrooms to choose from on the first floor, both encased in tactile pale wood, offering a calm, peaceful space in which to retreat to at the end of a busy day exploring London.

The master bedroom boasts a gorgeous super king-sized bed with whisper-soft mattress, floor to ceiling windows with wooden blinds (with a great view of The Shard!) and a charming window seat opposite with soft sheepskin rugs and cushions. From there, you walk through to a sumptuous en suite dressing and shower room with window seat, walk in shower, built-in cupboards to stow away clothes, and drawers and shelving for your personal items. Here you will also find the washing machine, drying rack and iron behind discreet cupboard doors.

The second bedroom has a blissful king-sized bed, a cosy window seat and an en suite shower room.

Both bedrooms have polished concrete floors throughout with underfloor heating to ensure feet are kept toasty warm, and both beds come swathed in feather and down duvets and pillows to help you drift off to sleep.

Outdoor space

This stunning retreat has a gorgeous courtyard garden, beautifully secluded and tucked away, with no one overlooking it. Brick paving provides the perfect setting for a bistro-style table and chairs, whilst swaying bamboo and gorgeous foliage create a little Eden in the heart of London - we just love the ancient feature wall and pretty lighting, whilst the sweeping curve of the house is simply breath-taking when lit up at night.

Parking

This retreat doesn't come with private parking, so we would suggest travelling to London by public transport if possible. Alternatively, there are public car parks a short walk away.

Babies and children

Carmarthen House isn't suitable for babies, but children over the age of six are most welcome.

Dogs

One well-behaved dog is most welcome at Carmarthen House, but please note dogs are not allowed to be left alone at the property at any time. We charge £35 per dog per week or short break.
