If you're looking to spoil your beloved, Spitfire is the perfect getaway in which to romance them. Nestled in the pretty Herefordshire countryside, this couples' paradise is sleek, luxurious, and dazzling. From the open-plan stylish living space to the epic bedroom and bathroom with vaulted ceiling, this bijoux bolthole won't fail to impress. Surrounded by rolling countryside, it's situated close to the Welsh border so should you be able to pull yourselves away from Spitfire, there's plenty of beautiful spots to explore from the Brecon Beacons to the Forest of Dean right up to the Shropshire Hills - bliss! For those into aviation history, this is the getaway for you. Just up the road, the Black Mountains is the site of more than 19 air crashes from the war - several of which are Spitfires. The owners have collected some fabulous memorabilia on these incredible planes, and you'll find artefacts throughout the property, from a Spitfire propeller, signed artwork and even a small library on the subject.
Living and eating

We just adore the open - plan ground floor, with the kitchen leading into the dining area and sitting room.

The exquisite kitchen, with gun-metal grey cupboards and dappled marble worktops, has everything you'll need to create culinary masterpieces for your beau. Boasting plenty of space, including a central island with wooden top, there's an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine and all the other essentials. There's also a breakfast bar with Spitfire barstools. The only thing not able to be squeezed in is a washing machine.

Walk through and you'll find the dining area which leads on to the cosy sitting room. A plump leather sofa plus three armchairs nestles around the wood burner, perfect for snug evenings in. We just love the coffee table which has a Spitfire propeller encased within it - fascinating! When it's summer, you can open the glass doors out onto the courtyard garden to let the soft, flower-scented air waft through - just perfect for lazy days when you just want to keep inside. There's a Smart TV and DVD player, plenty of books to peruse - including a small library all about the Spitfire plane and World War One - plus a Bose sound system so you can listen to your favourite tunes.

Sleeping

Set amongst the eaves with high vaulted ceiling and exposed beams, you'll be hard to find a more romantic spot. A king size wood sleigh bed awaits you, draped in the finest French linen sheets, throws and cushions that ensures a blissful nights' sleep. There's a pretty dressing table, wardrobe, chest of drawers and additional seating, plus gorgeous wooden flooring underfoot.

Bathing

Just wow! The jaw-dropping bathroom is oh-so-exquisite with a huge walk-in shower for two taking centre stage with a large rainfall head, perfect for wake-me-up showers. There's also a delicious free-standing bath for long, leisurely soaks to be enjoyed with a glass of bubbles in hand! Heated rails keep towels warm and fluffy.

Outdoor space

Spitfire is blessed with a private, sun-soaked courtyard garden complete with a table, chairs, and barbeque for romantic alfresco dining, plus two sun loungers for lazy afternoons with your favourite book and a tipple in hand - bliss!

In the Area

Spitfire is in a wonderful countryside setting yet is also beautifully positioned to explore some of the UK's most iconic spots as well as some hidden away treasures. Sitting in South Herefordshire, it's close to the Welsh border so a short drive west will find you in the pretty town of Abergavenny, famous for its food festival. You're also close to Hay-on-Wye, a wonderful border town famed for its array of bookshops and literary festival, and Brecon Beacons National Park - a beautiful, wild space of undulating hills and mountains where the Offa's Dyke Way will be a firm favourite for walkers. Head south and you'll have the Forest of Dean to explore, home to the intriguing Puzzlewood (said to have inspired J R R Tolkien) plus lovely Monmouth. Head east and explore historic Gloucester and its famous docks, whilst Regency Cheltenham has a wonderful selection of shops and parks. Finally, head northwards and you'll discover the famous Malvern Hills, the Cathedral city of Worcester, the attractive county town of Hereford, then beautiful countryside and pretty villages to explore all the way up to the Shropshire Hills.
