Situated on The Lizard, this lovely barn conversion lies peacefully between the villages of St Keverne and Coverack. Perfectly romantic, this laid-back love nest for two offers a relaxed getaway from the moment you step inside with open plan living and pretty views across the landscaped garden. Ideal for a summer break with masses of outdoor space and French windows that open up to bring the outside in, it's also super-cosy in winter with under floor heating throughout and a wood-burning stove; perfect for coming home to after a brisk stomp along the cliffs.
Living and eating

The fab living space is open plan with a vaulted ceiling making a gorgeously light and airy space, filled with beautiful locally-painted artwork. A two-seater grey sofa means you can cuddle up and gaze out of the French windows to the garden beyond, whilst a mustard-yellow Egg style chair and footstool is a perfect spot for curling up with a good book. A brilliant wood burning stove provides cosiness and bags of atmosphere whilst under floor heating keeps toes cosy warm.

The kitchen is situated to the back of the room and offers everything you need to whip up a meal for your loved one, all hidden neatly behind green cupboards with granite worktops and comes complete with an Illy coffee machine. The specious dining table seats six (perfect if you have friends visiting), tucked cosily in a corner with a padded 'L' shaped bench and Eames style dining chairs.

Sleeping

The gorgeous en suite bedroom has an oh-so-romantic copper bed, covered in swathes of White Company linens and throws - perfect for wrapping yourselves up in for a lazy morning lie-in. Heated floors means toes are kept warm whatever the weather, whilst two windows bring lots of light into the room.

Bathing

The en suite bathroom comes complete with a walk-in shower with drench shower head for luxuriously hot showers to wake up to, plus Moulton Brown goodies and a heated towel rail to keep towels fluffy and warm.

Outdoor Space

Longstone Barn has a simply gorgeous secluded garden which has been beautifully designed with beautiful flowers throughout and bags of space to spread out and enjoy the sunshine. There's a huge tilt-and-rotate sun umbrella, a Weber charcoal barbeque, a dining table and chairs for a spot of alfresco dining and a fire pit.

Baby friendly

This retreat is suitable for babes-in-arms only under the age of one. A travel cot, highchair, steriliser and other equipment can be provided on request.

WiFi

Longstone Barn is fully WiFi ready so if you need to keep in touch with the outside world you can, although due to the rural location it isn't super fast. Please note that mobile reception is limited.

Dogs

This is one of our pet-free properties.

In the Area

The most southerly point in the U.K, the Lizard is a perfect place to holiday with so many things right your doorstep to do. With the incredible coastline all around you, no trip would be complete without a walk on the South West Coastal Path. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the clifftop walks are just astonishing, from the turquoise seas, yellow gorse and cobalt skies on a sunny day to the rough, majestic waves, wheeling seagulls and blustery winds on a wintery day.

Cadgwith, Coverack, Mullion and Porthleven are fantastic little villages well worth exploring with picture-perfect views, tea rooms galore and fantastic restaurants serving incredible cuisine.

The Helford River is lovely for a boat trip, or why not hire your own boat? The nearby Trelowarren Estate has a great restaurant and art galleries, but also offers spa treatments if you fancy a bit of me-time. Of course, don't forget the beaches - all within a five to fifteen minute drive away - Coverack, Kynance Cove, Kennack Sands, Church Cove and Gunwalloe are just a few of our favourites.

Reviews

"We have a few favourite haunts (for two) in the UK and now we have a new one! Beautifully appointed, thoughtfully kitted out and nicely situated. Our hosts (Fiona and Andy), kindness itself. What more could one ask for?" August 2017

"Longstone Barn was clean, tidy and well looked after. The owners are to be congratulated on its presentation Another marvellous addition to your list of "retreats"." - September 2017
