Dolly's Plaice is a deliciously stylish ground floor apartment set right on the seafront overlooking the water. Designer fabrics, Farrow and Ball paints and gorgeous furnishings combine to create a luxurious bolthole with the most amazing views across the river to the sea beyond.
Living
The apartment is painted throughout in restful Farrow and Ball Skimming Stone, a wonderful background for the lovely artwork and gorgeous furnishings. A deep bay window in the sitting room looks out over the water to the little village of Polruan and in Regatta Week provides the most amazing grandstand view of the Red Arrows as they fly low over the river, so close you can see the pilots smiling as you wave to them! Upholstered armchairs and a deep nubuck leather sofa are cosied with cushions and throws, perfect for relaxing and watching the boats on the water or snuggling up and watching a film on the Smart TV. With a Blaupunkt Bluetooth speaker for streaming your favourite music and candles flickering in the lovely Victorian fireplace romance could definitely be in the air....
Eating and Cooking
A retro mid-century dining table and beautifully upholstered dining chairs will encourage you to linger over meals in the lovely Shaker style kitchen. There is a dual fuel Stoves range cooker, a big built-in fridge for storing all the local produce found in town and at local farmers markets and freezer for those so-important ice cubes. Gorgeous details like marble work surfaces, delicate crystal glasses, Andrew Martin mugs, Manuel Canovas fabric blinds and a Nespresso machine to for that essential morning coffee ....everything to make your holiday feel special. Double glass doors into the sitting room open right back so you can drink in the views.
Sleeping
Both lovely bedrooms have gorgeous upholstered king size beds, super comfortable mattresses and lovely Egyptian cotton linens topped with throws and soft cushions. There are bedside tables with oversized lamps and retro radios, perfect for lingering in bed with a book, a cup of morning tea and some soft music in the background. Fabulous Mulberry fabric curtains fall to the floor, hand finished and luxuriously padded, while deep pile carpets underfoot will have you padding around blissfully barefoot.
Bathing
Every option is covered at Dolly's Plaice with one bedroom having an en suite shower-room and shared access to the Penguin Library wallpapered loo in the hallway, while the second has a large en suite bathroom with a walk-in drench head shower and a double ended claw foot bath...bliss after days out exploring the fabulous coastline.
Terrace
A slate terrace stretches the length of the house at the front of the apartment with a table, chairs and bench for you to sit and enjoy the fabulous views with a morning coffee, an early evening glass of wine or a nightcap while watching the comings and goings on the water.
Parking
There is parking for one car directly in front of the apartment - parking with a view! There is also a public car park at Readymoney just up the road (a five minute walk away) and weekly tickets can be purchased from the machines in the car park, online or via Ringo (about £35 for the week).
WiFi
Dolly's Plaice has WiFi so you can stay connected to the outside world.
Access
Please note that due to the elevated position of Dolly's Plaice, there are steep steps leading up to the property so this retreat so may not be for those with limited mobility.

Exploring
Lucky you.....there are lots of lovely eating places within a few minutes' walk. Do check out;
Sam's in Fowey or Sam's on the Beach (the latter overlooks the water at Polkerris). Both have a great reputation and serve delicious food and cocktails!
The Old Quay House in Fowey is a lovely building which offers a luxurious restaurant. Waterside dining at its best.
Or, how about something completely different? A sumptuous picnic pottering on the water in a 1930's wooden motor launch called Sunbeam. Yes please! www.foweypicnicboat.co.uk
Activities Everything from walking, swimming and sailing to lounging, shopping, galleries and eating are right on your doorstep.
Readymoney Cove is a lovely sandy beach just a short walk away and there are plenty of opportunities to try paddle-boarding, dinghy sailing and kayaking either in Fowey or at Polkerris beach.
The Coastal Footpath passes through Fowey just below the cottage, so you can walk until your heart's content and take in the sublime sea and coastal views.
