Breathtakingly rural with far-reaching woodland views, this gorgeous Victorian chapel is well named 'Wildwood'. Beautifully converted into a chic, modern retreat, interiors are superbly spacious affording a relaxed, chilled out getaway. Simplicity is the key here with crisp whites throughout, pin-pricked with occasional bursts of muted primary colours to allow the incredible views to play centre stage. All in all, this is a delightful getaway for families or a group of friends wanting a peaceful, secluded escape yet not too far from fabulous Fowey and the pretty South Cornish coast whilst also just ten miles from Padstow, Rock and Polzeath on the majestic North coast.

Living and dining

Covering most of the ground floor, this light, open space has a huge wood burner at its heart, along with original parquet flooring, vaulted ceiling and stunning arched chapel windows, through which masses of light floods through. There are two cosy sofas - one handily in front of the television for film nights - plus occasional seats and pretty, well thought out furniture pieces and dining area. We love the hidden-away book shelf tucked behind the fire! Additionally, there's a tiny snug hidden away for those seeking a moment of solitude - a perfect spot to curl up with a book, whilst there's also a fabulous area in front of the kitchen where you can sprawl and gaze out through the huge glass doors to the emerald woodland beyond.

Kitchen

The oh-co-chic white minimalist kitchen with fabulous quartz worktops is on a mezzanine level overlooking the huge glass windows. All the kitchen equipment and appliances you will need are cleverly tucked away behind 'touch open' units - waiting for you to rustle up tasty snacks and lavish meals. Additionally, there's a small table and chairs nestled nearby - ideal for breakfasts, and a utility room on the ground floor.

Sleeping

All five bedrooms are sleekly modern and minimalist in design, meaning you'll easily drift off to the land of nod. You'll find one double bedroom on the ground floor, whilst on the first floor is a further double, children's room with bunk beds and an en suite double. The master bedroom is up a further flight of shallow steps and is also en suite and has lovely views over the meadow and countryside. Each has super-comfy beds, luxurious linens and charming finishing touches.

Bathing

There is a family bathroom on the first floor with a bath, overhead shower and heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy. The en suite double has a bath with hand-held shower whilst the master bedroom has an en suite wet room with heated floor to keep toes warm and cosy. Additionally, there's a cloakroom on the ground floor.

Outdoor space

Step through the glass sliding doors and you'll find yourself on a pretty stone-paved terrace that wraps around the modern extension, with table and chairs for a spot of alfresco dining. Steps lead down to three acres of tranquil meadows for you to meander through, whilst a separate area away from the house has an in-ground trampoline and football pitch complete with goalposts - perfect for keeping your little treasures entertained (please note that these aren't available from the beginning of November to the end of March). Additionally, there is storage for bikes in the shed.

Baby friendly

Two travel cots and two high chairs are provided - you will just need to bring your own linen for the cots.

Dogs

This is one of our pet-free properties.

WiFi

Please note that although WiFi is provided at Wildwood, the rural location of the property means it's not sufficient for streaming or downloading music, films or videos.

Parking

There is ample private parking provided for up to five cars.

Just seven miles from yachty-totty Fowey on the South coast and just a 40-minute drive to the North coast, there's plenty to see and do if you can bear to tear yourself away from Wildwood.

It's just a 30-minute walk to stunning Lanhydrock House (or a five-minute drive), and a must-do when staying at Wildwood. In addition to the fabulous house and gardens it also has two cafes, a restaurant and a children's playground. It also has lots of bike trails for all ages and abilities, and you can hire bikes there too.

Head south and you can enjoy sailing, yachting and boat trips around Fowey, Mevagissey and Looe, whilst surfer types will love Polzeath and the dramatic North coast.

There's plenty of storage for bikes at Wildwood, so head to the Camel Estuary or Cardinham Woods for trails aplenty whilst there's lots of fabulous walks on your doorstep too.

Garden lovers will adore the Eden Project just 25 minutes away, plus The Lost Gardens of Heligan and plenty of other subtropical gardens which the warm southern coast so easily supports.

'We had a wonderful stay. The house and its grounds are beautiful. The house itself is stylishly decorated and we all enjoyed hours of fun in the garden - the children were delighted with the rope swing and trampoline! There were books to read, toys for the children and DVDs to watch. Fabulous - thank you' - August 2017
