Step inside through the patina copper front door, complete with a nautical port hole, to uncover a charming open plan living space, with charming original features, coastal inspired interiors, and bespoke carpentry throughout.

The cosy living room is the epitome of seaside chic, with walls painted in Farrow and Ball's Peignoir, white-washed floorboards, and gorgeous granite alcove shelving - perfectly paired with soft, neutral accessories and hints of striking blue hues. Settle in front of the flickering electric wood burner on the sumptuous Country Living sofa in a luxurious navy velvet fabric, or stretch out in style on one of the two cream-toned armchairs nestled beside the sliding balcony doors. On warmer days, open the doors to the terrace to uncover a wooden bistro table for two, where you can savour mesmerising ocean vistas while delighting in romantic meals alfresco.

Along with a Smart TV, you will also find a Roberts DAB radio and a Bluetooth speaker for selecting your perfect staycation soundtrack.

The charming, locally hand-crafted kitchen and dining space is simply a dream to cook in. With beautiful bespoke cabinets in boy blue Porcelain by Zoffany and luxe aged brass detailing, this space is fully equipped with everything you should need during your getaway. You'll find a Neff oven, a Nespresso coffee machine, a fridge/freezer, and a dishwasher, along with plenty of prep space for crafting culinary delights. In the centre of the room, a solid oak dining table resides with two woven chairs, just made for dreamy candlelit feasting with that special someone.

Sleeping and bathing

Follow the illuminated stairs to uncover the bedroom of dreams, with an exquisite wood panelled feature wall (complete with mood lighting) and stunning balcony, boasting spellbinding sea views of the Mount and beyond. With rustic, beamed ceilings and dark herringbone parquet floorboards, this space is simply divine. A king-sized bed swathed in luxurious linens and cloud-soft bedding awaits, along with an enchanting copper bathtub for two, just made for unwinding with bubble-topped soaks. You will also find an opulent dressing table with mirror and stool, a bespoke hammered nickel wash basin, and a double wardrobe offering plenty of storage during your stay.

In addition, there's a Smart TV, perfect for pairing a lingering lie-in with a nostalgic movie.

You'll find an elegant shower room in rich copper and deep blue tones offering the perfect spa-like experience, boasting a spacious walk-in shower with rainfall head for those refreshing wake up moments.

Outdoor space

With panoramic scenery in every direction, the garden space is simply breath-taking. Taking the steps down from the living room terrace, wander along the path lined with idyllic wildflowers to uncover the lovely patio complete with a secret garden hut. A wooden bistro table with two gorgeous black woven chairs awaits, along with a boho black macrame swing chair for snoozing on sun-soaked days - truly magical. Open the sliding doors and you'll find the dreamy hot tub, perfect for hiding away together with a glass in hand on stormy evenings. We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about St Michael's:

The cottage was an absolute delight. It has been refurbished and fitted-out sympathetically and to an extremely high standard. It exceeded our expectations.

We had an amazing stay with our little dog. She enjoyed the enclosed garden and we enjoyed the hot tub with breathtaking sea views

There are places you feel instantly at home and St Michael`s Retreat is definitely one of them! We arrived exhausted after a long flight delay at midnight but Mike was so thoughtful to leave the lights on so we had no problem to find the cottage. We were welcomed with a handwritten sign wishing us a lovely 30th wedding anniversary (what felt like honeymoon!), a bottle of prosecco, delicious local food for breakfast the next morning, and even fresh roses - wow! What a warm welcome!

The cosy cottage in its friendly colours provided everything we could possibly wish for: lovely decoration, beautiful and clean kitchen, wooden floor and furniture, fantastic views to St Michaels Mount from livingroom and bedroom, a very comfortable bed with lovely linen, good-smelling products, a copper bath tub, a huge shower, lights and lamps everywhere to create different atmospheres, and of course the fantastic hot tub hut! This was honestly the best hot tub experience we ever had. Thoughtfully planned theres everything you need to enjoy your own little private party in the garden (small fridge, radio, hanging chair, a brand new toilet and a big hot tub!). Amazing! There were also chairs to sit outside, a barbecue and pizza oven for summer. Mike even carved a Halloween St. Michaels Mount pumpkin for us! Thank you so much for the attentiveness and all the hard work you put into the renovation of this lovely cottage! You turned it into a real gem. Thank you for getting in contact before and during our stay. We also really appreciated that everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained.
All the places we wanted to visit were really close. There are some small shops in Marazion and The Godolphin with great views and very delicious food. We had a fantastic week at St. Michael
s Retreat!

This cottage exceeded expectation which rarely happens. It is in a wonderful location with great views and facilities. The only downside is you won’t want to leave it to go out and about exploring the beautiful area you are in ….

Gorgeous interior, high quality

Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect. Lots of lovely touches and the most incredible views. The weather was not great but we still had plenty to keep us occupied - the hot tub and the bath were well used!

It was exactly as it was described. The photos are fabulous but they don't do it justice till you are actually there, it is truly idyllic. Didn't want to return home at the end of our holiday.

Absolutely incredible! Fantastic host/owner, wi helpful, stunning interiors and the most wonderful location and view

I'm not sure how but it was even better than the pictures and our expectations, truly lovely home and location.

The location and views are exceptional, it’s a really special place and the hot tub and terrace area offer lots of privacy. Mike was very accommodating and friendly to deal with!

Stunning luxury retreat that lived up to its name. Stylish but practical interiors, doggy friendly, beautiful setting and a real retreat for utter relaxation. The views from every room are to die for. You can not fail to enjoy every second of your stay at St Michaels.

A perfect retreat, Mike the host was welcoming and to hand if you needed anything. The location was breathtaking, a perfect way to spend a day relaxing looking out on the view. The retreat itself has everything you needed - love the interior styling. We'll definitely be returning.

The best place to while away some days in a lovely location at an exclusive retreat so close to the beach and the local pub. The cottage has everything and more to enhance the stay and a stunning view. We will be back.

St Michael’s retreat is an absolutely stunning property. We had the best time staying here with our dog for our ‘minimoon’ and couldn’t of wished for a lovelier house. The property is so well equipped, finished to a very high end and every little detail has been so well thought through. A particular highlight is the lovely hot tub with views overlooking St Michael’s mount which we spent a lot of time in! Would highly recommend this property for couples and would definitely love to stay again.

St Michael’s is really beautiful. Every detail with regard to the interior is really well thought out. The facilities are excellent. And the extra touches with the Prosecco, biscuits and cream teas were really welcome...they were delicious. Best of all is how the property takes advantage of the exceptional sea views and St Michael’s Mount absolutely stunning and would highly recommend.

A fantastic retreat away , the most stunning views and a gorgeous home. We had a wonderful relaxing stay.

A wonderful and luxurious property with stunning views of the sea and St Michael’s Mount. I am really glad there is not a clock in the cottage as time blissfully melts away here. I have so enjoyed design textures, craftsmenship and colours of the retreat. The sleeping room is astonishingly beautiful and I found myself wondering where all the beautiful wood was from in a former life. Every detail has been considered and the design is beautiful. The hottub cabin is a wonderful place to read, think and gaze at the sea or ever-changing Cornish skies…in or out of the tub! Can’t wait to return.

Thank you so much for an amazing week, all the touches to make our trip so special. You both should be so proud of your hard work to make this cottage beautiful. You have made us very jealous! You have the perfect cottage in such an amazing place. The view… Speechless! We would come back every year if we could and recommend to family and friends to experience for themselves.

Wonderful place! Incredible views and perfectly decorated!Beautiful, cozy and had everything we needed! The hosts Karen and Mike went above and beyond! Everything was perfect! This place is a paradise!

Absolute perfection! Pure bliss, and by far, the most luxurious place I have ever stayedin. Such love and attention to detail. Thank you so much Mike & Karen. We've absolutely loved our stay here. The view of the mount is just breathtaking, and there are so many amazing places nearby to explore. Definitely worth trying the Victoria Inn at Perranuthnoe - just fantastic to have it so close by! Also Kynance Cove and Porthcurno were great days out.We ran out of time and would absolutely love to come back again. Massive Thanks, Sam, Chris & Shandy xxx

Thank you so much for creating this beautiful place! We feel so happy to have found this little haven in Cornwall. The cottage is the most comfortable holiday home we have ever stayed in. The bed, the sofa, chairs, the wonderful hot tub! Everything we needed was here, and more! Murphy had wonderful walks on the beach and loved the doggy treats. Thank you also for the lovely items left for us - much appreciated! The effort, and craft and love that has gone into St Michael's Retreat is evident in every corner of this place and we hope to return. Thank you!
