Tucked away in the heart of the quintessential seaside village of Mousehole, Little Duck is a lovely, granite fronted Grade II listed cottage for four, offering simple yet stylish living within seconds of the beach, harbour, shops, cafes and restaurants that this idyllic spot has to offer. Packed full of historic charm, this former fish store forms part of a cluster of cottages around a courtyard - characteristic of Mousehole - and is perfect for couples or families alike. A calm, tranquil retreat with everything you need for a perfect Cornish getaway, it's ideally located to explore the far west of Cornwall, from the Lizard on the south coast to St Ives and beyond on the north. Just wonderful.
Living

The cosy living space is relaxed and soothing in shades of white and soft greys, complimented perfectly by warm wooden tones. There are two comfy sofas to relax on - even a super squishy one from Loaf - and a Smart TV for lazy evenings in. French windows lead out to the courtyard so during warmer days you can let the fresh sea air in - totally blissful!

Eating

The pale grey kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to rustle up meals and snacks for you and yours, including a super-fast induction hob, electric oven, dishwasher, Dualit toaster, Le Creuset kitchenware and of course the all-important coffee machine to make breakfast extra special. In addition, there's a washer-dryer in the outhouse. The dining room, flooded by sunshine on sunny days, and kitchen are connected allowing conversation to flow and the country-kitchen style table seats eight comfortably. The pretty window seat and a wonderful open fire make this is a fabulous spot for long dinners and lazy lunches.

Sleeping

There are two charming bedrooms at Little Duck. The master bedroom has an eye-catching Feather & Black king size bed with gorgeous linens, cushions and throws - a place made for dreaming - and we adore the feather lightshades, a nod to the retreats' namesake. In addition, there's a separate seating area with a two-seater sofa (perfect for snuggling on or a quiet moment alone with a book) and a roomy wardrobe. The second bedroom is a zip-and-link bed so can be a super king bed or twin beds depending on your needs. We love the exposed stone walls and antique drawer unit.

Bathing

The beautiful bathroom has a lovely single-ended slipper bath - made for long, luxurious soaks. In addition, there's a fabulous rainfall shower with separate handheld shower to wake you up in the morning.

Outdoor space

There's a bijoux courtyard with a cute wrought-iron bench - a perfect spot for a morning coffee and looking at the weekend papers.

Parking

Mousehole wasn't built with cars in mind, but there are three public car parks - one on the approach into the village and one either side of the harbour- and laybys on the approach into the village.

Dogs

One well behaved dog is very welcome at Little Duck, we charge £30 per week or short break.

WiFi

Little Duck has Superfast fibre broadband so should you need to stay in touch with the outside world you can.

In the Area

Little Duck is the perfect base from which to explore the stunning far west of Cornwall. Mousehole itself is a lovely little village with some fabulous places to eat including The Old Coastguard and 2 Fore Street. There's a great delicatessen called the Hole Food Deli (perfect for luxurious extras), plus Rock Pool Café is great for coffee and cake or afternoon tea as well as a host of others to explore. Pop into your car and head west, exploring the pretty coves of Lamorna and Porthcurno (also home to the Minack Theatre) towards Land's End and Sennen, a fab little village with an epic beach and a hot spot for surfers. Further around you'll find iconic St Ives with its golden sandy beaches, the Tate and lots of shops and places to eat. Back on the south coast check out Newlyn - one of the oldest continual fishing harbours in the UK - and pick up some fresh fish for dinner. Make sure to visit historic Chapel Street in Penzance as well as Jubilee Pool. Further along, there's magical St Michael's Mount and Marazion, Praa Sands (an amazing beach), Porthleven (home to lots of brilliant restaurants) and the Lizard, the most southerly point in the UK and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
