This stunning cottage sleeps five and is just steps away from the harbour and beach. Exposed beams, wooden flooring, Cornish stone walls, fabulous lighting, quality materials and soft furnishings are brought together to create a retreat that offers a gentle ambiance - somewhere peaceful to come home to after a day on the beach or out exploring the beautiful far west of Cornwall.

Living

Step into Mill House and you'll find yourself directly in the spacious living area. A gorgeous deep grey sofa and love seat are found by the log burner which in turn nestles in the original Cornish stone chimney. Surrounded by unusual wood-lined walls and fabulous lighting, it's easy to while away an evening or two in this relaxing space. White wooden stairs lead up to the airy landing, complete with Velux window which floods the space with light.

Eating

A cool, calm and collected bespoke-fitted kitchen awaits you at Mill House. Uncluttered with smooth wooden work surfaces, Farrow & Ball cabinets and cupboards, Rangemaster oven and hob plus all the other mod cons you would expect, this is a fabulous kitchen in which to rustle up a seafood feast. The rustic dining table with bench and chairs sits within the open plan living area and is illuminated by a lovely vintage lamp - this is a perfect setting for long, luxurious meals with plenty of locally-sourced good food and drink.

Sleeping

Upstairs are two double bedrooms and a single bedroom, all furnished with sumptuously comfy beds, crisp white linen, heritage radiators, intriguing lighting, lovely throws and plentiful cushions - you are definitely guaranteed a full night's slumber at Mill House.

Bathing

The family bathroom has a deliciously deep bath (perfect for whiling away an hour or two) with a huge drench shower. White metro tiles line the room, creating a clean, sparkling space whilst the heated towel rail fills the room with a gentle heat. There is an additional shower room so there'll be no arguing over who uses the bathroom first in the morning!

Location

Mousehole is one of the most iconic fishing villages in Cornwall. Huddling the coastline and protected by Raginnis Hill, it's also one of the oldest with parts of the harbour wall dating back to the twelfth century. Today the village maintains its olde-worlde charm, with narrow cobbled streets, slate roofs, whitewashed cottages and brightly coloured paintwork. It's perfect for foodies, with a good selection of restaurants, cafés and delis, and is just a hop from the world-famous fishing village of Newlyn. The horseshoe beach is nicely protected by harbour walls which almost meet - creating a perfect spot for soaking up the Cornish sun - it's a real sun trap! There's plenty going on throughout the year here, but perhaps the most famous attractions are the harbour lights at Christmas when hundreds of people come to see the spectacular display.

Charmingly chic and elegantly furnished, Mill House has been beautifully designed. Set in the heart of pretty Mousehole in Cornwall this wonderful retreat offers the rare bonus of a garage and courtyard garden.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Mill House, Mousehole:

Nice cottage in an excellent Mousehole location. The availability of car parking is a real bonus.

This is a lovely house set in the middle of a beautiful fishing village. The streets in Mousehole can be steep but given the cottages location in the centre this is not an issue. The pub and restaurants were excellent. Numerous amazing beaches were a short drive away and great coastal path walks to Lamorna Cove and Porthcurno are highly recommended. A very relaxing week.

Lovely cottage. Usual Boutique Retreats high standard, will definitely book again if they’ll have us!

A beautifully decorated stylish cottage right in the centre of Mousehole. A perfect location, steps away from the main harbour. The hidden courtyard is a tranquil place to unwind after a day of exploring.

Perfect cottage, great location to stay. Everything you could need is there excellent accommodation and perfect hosts thank you for a lovely stay

Gorgeous property that felt bigger than it looks! Comfortable and well appointed throughout we couldn’t have been happier settling in for our stay in Mousehole and the garage/parking was such a benefit where parking was at a premium. I would add that Mousehole isn’t the most dog friendly location with the quays and small beach both being out of bounds all year round.

Stunning cottage in a stunning location.
