Location
Mousehole is one of the most iconic fishing villages in Cornwall. Huddling the coastline and protected by Raginnis Hill, it's also one of the oldest with parts of the harbour wall dating back to the twelfth century. Today the village maintains its olde-worlde charm, with narrow cobbled streets, slate roofs, whitewashed cottages and brightly coloured paintwork. It's perfect for foodies, with a good selection of restaurants, cafés and delis, and is just a hop from the world-famous fishing village of Newlyn. The horseshoe beach is nicely protected by harbour walls which almost meet - creating a perfect spot for soaking up the Cornish sun - it's a real sun trap! There's plenty going on throughout the year here, but perhaps the most famous attractions are the harbour lights at Christmas when hundreds of people come to see the spectacular display.
