Expect extra brownie points for choosing this little beauty for your getaway. Nestled down a narrow street yet just 300 yards from the sea, Star Haze is a pretty fisherman's cottage filled with original beams, thick Cornish stone walls and a wood burning stove. Step out the door and you're just a few steps from the harbour and beach, as well as restaurants, pubs and galleries just waiting to be explored.

Located on the first floor and running from the front to the back of the property, this generous living space makes the most of the light which floods through the windows from morning to twilight. The reading nook captures the morning sun, so snuggle up with a leisurely coffee on the chaise longue which offers views of the rooftops to a glimpse of the sea beyond, or sit at the charming French table and chairs to scribble a postcard back home while sipping something cool and refreshing. Walk through the double doors into the living room where the deep window seat catches the evening sun, and you'll find a roaring wood burner nestled in the thick granite stone that will keep you warm and toasty even if winter storms batter the harbour walls outside, while the sumptuous Designer Guild rugs and large floor cushion entice you to dreamily watch the flames. On warmer nights, open the windows at either ends of the room, and let the gentle chimes from the Village Clock tower carry though on the soft sea breeze - a lovely sound to unwind to at the end of the day.

Due to the higgledy-piggledy nature of the ancient properties near the harbour in Mousehole there is part of another cottage over some of Star Haze.

Step through the Cornish Blue stable door and you immediately feel the welcome of the lovely beamed kitchen. Bare feet will love the gorgeous stone floor which is cool underfoot during the summer months whilst under floor heating keeps you super warm and toasty during winter. Vintage T.G Green Cornishware crockery is prettily displayed on the beams and shelves, creating a lovely cottage feel whilst granite worktops, butlers sink and rustic tiles alongside modern appliances add more than a touch of luxury to this very well equipped hideaway. A cute table pour deux is set by the window for you to enjoy a romantic meal - maybe some fresh fish bought straight off the boat or some delectable delights from Hole Food Deli (handily just around the corner).

You'll have no trouble falling asleep in this gorgeously tranquil and cute bedroom. A king size bed with vintage French linen bed head awaits you for a blissful nights' sleep, whilst crisp linens, heated floor, luxurious bedding and simple decor make this a soothing retreat and a perfect place to snuggle down at the end of the day. To complete this room there is a second iPod dock/digital radio next to the bed, another smart high definition TV, plus a selection of novels.

The en-suite bathroom (with additional door to dining area) is luxuriously modern with full under floor heating to ensure you are lovely and warm. There is a heated warmer for your fluffy white towels after a soak in the bath or an invigorating shower after a day walking the cliffs, surfing or simply pottering around on Mousehole beach collecting shells.

Whilst there isn't parking at Star Haze you can do a bag drop then park your car in one of the harbourside car parks nearby.

'We stayed for 2 weeks over Christmas and new year and we couldn't have been happier with our choice of cottage. We love Mousehole and had always wanted to see the Christmas lights. This is the 4th cottage we have stayed in in Mousehole and it's gone to the top of our list of favourites.' - December 2018

'Wonderful cottage, very comfortable and well equipped. Bed is one of the most comfortable I have slept in for a long time!' - July 2018

'The house was a lot larger than expected. All the little touches were lovely, we loved the scones and bottle of fizz, the torch on the coat rack was very useful and the supply of wood and kindle very much appreciated. Mousehole is a fantastic place with plenty of places to eat and drink and the majority are very dog friendly. We will definitely return x Contact with Boutique Retreats was excellent, the guide provided was very useful, the tips for parking and the information were absolutely spot on, thank you.' - February 2018
