Nestled on the stunning Roseland Peninsula on the South Cornish coast in the pretty hamlet of Treworthal, this wonderful Grade II listed thatched retreat offers a warm welcome for single travellers or couples with surprisingly modern interiors twinned sympathetically with a host of original features such as the grand stone fireplace, wood burner and beamed ceilings. With so much to see right on your doorstep such as the protected coves and beaches and the seaside villages of Portscatho, St Mawes and Portloe, this home stay promises to be the quintessential Cornish escape and is dog friendly too.
Living

The pretty sitting room boasts a large wood burner, making it the perfect spot for curling up in the evening on the comfy sofa or leather occasional chair. With whitewashed walls, dark wood floors, beamed ceiling and dual-aspect windows overlooking the surrounding countryside, it's classically country-chic, but with pops of bright colour throughout, it cleverly draws the space into modern day living. We just love the exposed stone fireplace and the copper coffee table.

Eating

The small, country kitchen is oh-so-stylish with cabinets in shades of grey and marble worktops and offers everything you'll need to rustle up meals including an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer, plus the essential Nespresso coffee machine just in case you can't start your day without a caffeine kick.

Sleeping

Climb the stairs to your night-time boudoir where you'll find a Moroccan inspired super-king bed swathed in rich, luxurious linens, an eye-catching Anthropologie quilt and a plethora of cushions, creating the ultimate love nest so cosy you'll never want to get up! Decorated in clean whites and with pretty countryside views and plenty of cupboard space, it's both beautiful and practical.

Bathing

The downstairs bathroom benefits from a deep tub with overhead rainfall shower, underfloor heating to keep toes toasty warm and a heated rail to ensure towels are kept warm and fluffy.

Garden

The cottage garden, surrounded by rolling green countryside, is a lovely spot to while away a sunny afternoon or two. There's a raised patio with a table, chairs for alfresco meals nicely protected by the traditional Cornish stone wall. In the main garden, dotted with flower beds and pretty hedging, there's an attractive pergola with further seating, further patio area and a gas barbeque plus sun loungers.

Parking

There is private parking for one car at Sophie's Cottage.

A babe in arms is welcome at Sophie's Cottage and a highchair and cot are available on request.
