Hummingbird is a delight - nestled amongst a grove of trees and commanding sea views from the top floor, this is a holiday bolt hole with a difference. There's more-than-a-nod to all things Alpine - there's a Swiss-chalet feel to the exterior, two balconies, stone walls, wooden cladding and a hot tub. Surrounded by trees, it feels very secluded and private, whilst the attention to detail adds more than a touch of luxury.
Living

Located on the top floor with huge vaulted ceilings, beautiful golden wood floors, under floor heating and Velux windows over which the emerald trees form a canopy, the sitting area is dominated by the view from the floor-to-ceiling glass folding doors. It's definitely not hard to while away an afternoon or two sitting in the comfy sofas gazing out at the view, and when the sun is out you can push back the doors and lounge on the stunning balcony. In cooler months, there's a superb wood burning stove for snuggling up in front of and a huge flat screen TV for film nights.

Eating

The kitchen lies to the back of the living area, and as you would expect for a Boutique Retreat it is fully equipped for even the most experienced chef. Shiny black granite work tops offer plenty of working space whilst the spacious cupboards keep everything tucked away. The dining table lies in the centre of the kitchen area making it a great sociable space - the cook definitely won't feel left out!

Sleeping

There are two king size double bedrooms, both of which are en suite. One is located on the ground floor and has patio doors leading out into the garden and straight onto the hot tub - ideal for summery days to bring the outside in, whilst thick curtains can be drawn for cosiness at night. The second bedroom is on the first floor and comes with a huge mirror-fronted closet.

Bathing

The upstairs en suite is a great wet room with drench head shower, whilst the ground floor en suite is a walk-in shower with bags of room. Both are decorated with lovely fawn tiling and are kept toasty warm with heated towel rails, whilst film-star style mirrors add bags of light.

Outside space

The outdoor space has to be seen to be believed. There's a secret garden feel here - surrounded by what feels like hundreds of trees. A large grassy area to the front is perfect for little ones to play on or if you're feeling lazy simply to lie on. Of course, the jewel in the crown here is the hot tub - what could be better than whiling away an hour or three amongst the bubbles whilst maybe sipping some bubbles too?

Parking

There's plenty of parking at Hummingbird to the side of the retreat.

WiFi

Hummingbird has WiFi, so if you need to keep in touch with the outside world you can.
