If you're after an escape, this beauty will certainly tick all the boxes. Nestled on the edge of a pretty reservoir (fishing permits can be obtained for any anglers out there!), Reservoir Cottage has been lovingly restored with subtle interior flair whilst retaining much of its Art Nouveau period charm. This luxurious retreat offers a peaceful haven with three beautiful bedrooms, tranquil living spaces (all with stunning views) and an inviting kitchen and dining room. Step through the front door and the soothing shades of white and grey, exquisite décor and countryside glimpses will help the stresses and strains of everyday life just fall away. You're also just a short distance from St Ives town (it's within walking distance if you feel like a little exercise, walk down and taxi back up!) and the wonderful west of Cornwall is right on your doorstep. This is a perfect base from which to explore this beautiful part of the country - lucky you!
Special 'Just for Two' rate

A special 'Just for Two' rate applies if there are only two guests staying at Reservoir Cottage. The discount off the advertised rate is 20%. This only applies out of peak weeks and school holidays. Call us in the office on 01872 553491 if you have any questions or would like to book. When Reservoir Cottage is booked for two guests this is on the basis that only the master bedroom is used during your stay.

Living

There are two lovely spaces for those days when you just want to relax at home, or for chilling out in at the end of the day. The airy Sun Room has huge windows that offer a panoramic view over the dramatic Cornish countryside and two plush sofas to recline in and watch the world go by. During warmer months, double doors open onto the surrounding slate tiled terrace bringing the outside and the birdsong in - just gorgeous! The cosy Snug has a sumptuous Loaf sofa, bespoke furniture and an elegant Art Nouveau decorative fireplace. Both rooms are equipped with a Smart TV for when a movie night calls or if you just want to catch up on your favourite television series.

Eating

The well-equipped kitchen not only looks beautiful, with gorgeous slate floors and bespoke tiled work surfaces, but also comes fully fitted with everything you'll need to create delectable dishes for your loved ones. There's a fabulous Rangemaster cooker with a five-burner hob, retro fridge-freezer, Dualit toaster and kettle and even a dishwasher so no-one has to do the washing up!

Exposed granite walls open onto the enticing dining room which is just perfect for feasts - we love the handsome French bistro dining table which easily seats eight, the original Rayburn (for decorative purposes only!), the stylish side unit with Rancilio Expresso machine and the accompanying sound system with Bluetooth to stream your favourite sounds while you dine in style!

Sleeping

Follow the lovebirds to the top of the stairs and you will find three gorgeous bedrooms - one king size, one double and a pretty twin with bunk beds - perfect for little ones. Each has uninterrupted views of the countryside. The master bedroom has an elegant wrought iron four poster bed, a lovely decorative Art Nouveau fireplace, fitted wardrobe and plenty of under bed storage. The double and twin are also beautifully decorated with fitted wardrobe and hanging space respectively. All are swathed in crisp white linens, sumptuous duvets and pretty throws. The peace and solitude here is sure to lull you into a blissful nights' sleep.

Bathing

Reservoir Cottage has two fabulous washrooms. Downstairs, there's a spacious bathroom with traditional 'rain' style shower and a freestanding claw-footed bath tub for two. Upstairs, there's a fully fitted wet room including a shower. Both have heated towel rails to keep towels warm and fluffy.

Outdoor space

The cottage is surrounded by oodles of outdoor space, making it perfect for relaxing in the sun-soaked grounds during the summer months. Take time out to unwind on the slate terrace which wraps around the sun room (loungers and deck chairs provided), or enjoy alfresco meals on the timber deck whilst listening to the trickling stream from the reservoir in front of you.

There is private parking for up to three cars.

In the Area

Being so close to St Ives, you have all the benefits of this incredible seaside town, but are located just far enough away for peace and solitude should you wish it. Head into St Ives for the art galleries, including of course the fabulous Tate and the wonderful Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden. There are plentiful sandy beaches too, if you're after a beachy day, whilst the assorted and eclectic shops offer respite if you need a little retail therapy. St Ives is also rich in restaurants, so perfect for when no-one wants to cook! Head west for fabulous coastal walks, Sennen for a spot of surfing (and maybe some fish and chips), then round to the south coast where Porthcurno awaits with the magical Minack Theatre. Further on into Mount's Bay is the picturesque fishing village of Mousehole and Marazion with the iconic St Michael's Mount.
