On arrival at Sandpiper, you’ll find yourself in a mini-Eden. Lush gardens sweep you along to the front of the retreat where huge windows overlook the gorgeous view back over the gardens down to the glittering sea of Carbis Bay below. There’s something American in the style of Sandpiper - step in the front door and you’ll find yourself in a peaceful oasis with open plan living, huge rooms, simple, stylish furnishings with everything you might need for a perfect stay – including a fabulous hot tub.

Occupancy details

Sandpiper sleeps 8 during school holidays, peak weeks, bank holidays, Christmas and New Year. Outside of these periods the property can sleep 2 or 4 guests at a reduced rate, the reduction is programmed into the availability calendar. Please note that only bedrooms one and two will be available for you at this rate. For any queries please call the office on 01872 553491 or email enquiries@boutique-retreats.co.uk.

Living

The main living space lies in the centre of Sandpiper and is a lovely, cool escape in summer with glass doors that open wide onto the garden, bringing the outside in. In winter months, it becomes a cosy retreat with a gorgeous wood burning stove. A fabulously long sofa means you can all cosy up together and there’s a large TV too for when only a film night will do.

Eating

The spacious, welcoming kitchen is definitely the heart of Sandpiper. Soft, solid oak cupboards, terracotta tiles and a lovely green Aga make it a warm and cosy space and comes complete with everything you need to rustle up a meal (including another oven and hob if the idea of an Aga is a little daunting), as well as the all-important Nespresso coffee machine for sunny mornings on the terrace. Next to the kitchen is the dining area, complete with table big enough for eight, next to glass doors that lead out into the garden so on balmy nights you can have the sea breeze accompanying you over dinner. Outside, there’s also a decked area nestled in the gardens with a large table and chairs for a spot of al fresco dining.

Sleeping

There are four simple yet pretty bedrooms at Sandpiper – a double bedroom lies downstairs with its own bathroom whilst upstairs there is the master bedroom with en suite bathroom, and two twin bedrooms (one of which is specifically designed for little ones). The master bedroom has a lovely balcony overlooking the garden and the sea – perfect for a private breakfast or a Sundowner. All come complete with lovely linens and soft furnishings atop comfy beds to ensure a good nights’ sleep.

Bathing

There are three stylish bathrooms – the downstairs rainfall shower room is adjacent to the bedroom, whilst the upstairs family bathroom has a deep bath and gorgeous separate shower and Jack and Jill door meaning it’s both an en suite to the master bedroom and can be used by other guests. The third bathroom is a wet room with rainfall shower. You’ll also find a further loo in the utility next to the kitchen.

Outside space

The jewel in the crown at Sandpiper is the gorgeous, landscaped gardens and hot tub that you can step into directly from the French doors in the dining room. Soft sea breezes rustle the leaves of the trees, offering plenty of privacy, whilst the emerald lawns and hidden paths means there is plenty of space for little ones to play and explore. There’s also a great patio area with seating for long, lazy afternoons in the sun whilst of course there’s the magnificent hot tub – perfect for wallowing in whilst watching the stars above with a glass of something special in hand. Head to the bottom of the garden and join the path that will take you all the way down to the beach.

Sandpiper has WiFi so if you need to stay in touch with the outside world you can.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Sandpiper:

We absolutely loved Sandpiper. The property, setting and location was perfect. We walked regularly into St Ives along the coastal path, which took approx 25 mins and the views were stunning overlooking the sea. The beach with a fab cocktail bar was only a 5 minute walk away and the views and beach was absolutely stunning. The house had everything that we could of asked for and with Tesco and a pub with great food only a 10 minute walk meant we hardly used the car. Would definitely return in the warmer weather.

Absolutely stunning property, amazing location walking distance to the pub, the supermarket and the beach all under 10 minutes walk. The property itself was amazing both inside and out fully equipped kitchen with top of the range home appliances, even the smallest details are carefully plan like some scones, cream and jam as a little bottle of milk waiting for us when we arrived. 12/10 will recommend to everyone

Great location and beautiful gardens and house.

The house was lovely & had everything you could possibly need to make your stay perfect. I phoned Naomi the housekeeper & she was brilliant

Spacious family cottage, plenty of room, kitchen extremely well equipped, comfortable beds and very well maintained hot tub. Wonderful garden. Ideally situated for access to the beach, walking distance to St Ives or stroll down the hill to the railway station. We will certainly visit again.

Sandpiper is a magical, secluded hideaway. We loved spending time in the garden and feeling a sense of real solitude whilst in reality we were five minutes walk to Carbis Bay beach. A real hidden gem with a luxurious yet homely feel. We could easily spend time here again. It was a great place to enjoy with our friends and the kids loved the hot tub!

Just perfect nothing i would change.... 5 star cottage with everything you would need.... loved the ice machine and fab hot tub and the hot tub man who dealt with it was very friendly and helpful..This cottage is the best we have ever stayed in thanks for a perfect long needed holiday:)

A wonderful property set in amazing gardens. The hills are a challenge to those who are short of fitness, but the prize is worth it.

.

Beautiful, spacious, very comfortable and well equipped cottage with fabulous garden in a fantastic convenient, private and peaceful location.

Great location and property. The handyman Ian was helpful and prompt especially as it was over the Christmas season. Beautiful little gem!!

Simply beautiful house in a wonderful location! Even better than it looks on the pictures and perfect for a big family holiday!

Sandpiper is a beautiful home in a stunning location. We had an excellent time. The house was immaculate and there were plenty of utensils. Would love to return.

An immaculate and extremely well equipped house. Stunning garden and outside space (although on many levels so best for those who are fully mobile). A challenging but worthwhile walk down paths to a beautiful beach - just allow lots of energy and enthusiasm for the climb back up at the end of the day! A perfect retreat that you might never want to leave.

This is a fantastic house in the perfect location.

Perfect holiday home. Easy walk to beach and quick train ride into st ives

Fabulous week in this lovely house with my family. Such a great place to stay. Gardens are beautiful and location was perfect. Bit of a hike back up the hill from the beach but we felt so lucky to be able to walk to the beach. Hot tub was a lovely bonus. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
