Step into Skylark and you'll feel your worries and cares slip away - this classic beauty is all about the calm. With reverse living (the bedrooms downstairs, the gorgeous vaulted living space upstairs to make the most of the views), the gentle colours, warm woods and subtle blend of modern and vintage makes this a retreat in the truest sense.
Living

Situated on the first floor with large picture windows to make the most of the gorgeous views of the lush rolling countryside, the living space is a light, open affair. Vaulted ceilings, wooden floors, a dining table which comfortably seats eight and mid-century furniture make this a chic space in which to relax. We just adore the palest-of-pale colour palettes used, whilst two sofas and a large wood burner add a cosy element. There's an additional office/single bedroom space - perfect for an afternoon snooze, catching up on emails or even as a bedroom for those with mobility problems.

Eating

Enveloped mainly by windows, the kitchen and dining area boasts incredible views over the Camel Valley which can be gazed at from the pretty round dining table, whilst the floor-to-ceiling windows can be opened onto a sun-baked decking area. The kitchen itself is equipped with everything a keen chef needs to create culinary masterpieces, whilst the central island also doubles as a handy breakfast bar.

Sleeping

Take the stairs down where you'll find four gorgeous bedrooms, each ready to welcome you for a peaceful nights' sleep. The en suite master bedroom has a lovely super king size bed, floor-to-ceiling windows with idyllic countryside views and vintage furniture. There's a further two king sized bedrooms and a twin. Each boast lovely country views and come swathed in beautiful linens and simple, minimalist décor to promote a calm, blissful space in which to escape to at the end of the day.

Bathing

The master bedroom has a gorgeous bathroom with corner bath and walk in shower. Additionally, there's a family bathroom also with bath and separate walk in shower whilst upstairs there's an en suite shower room in the single bedroom/office room. Each has a heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy.

Outdoor space

With over an acre of pretty gardens to call your own, outdoor living doesn't get any better than this. You'll find enough seating for eight and a barbeque for a spot of outdoor dining, a tucked-away bench by the pond (ideal for a quiet moment with a book), a bench and small table in front of the kitchen and deck chairs for a bit of sun worshipping.

Dogs

One medium-sized dog is very welcome at Skylark, we charge £30 per week or short break.

Parking

There's plenty of parking directly outside the property.

WiFi

Skylark has WiFi so if you need to stay in touch with the outside world you can, though please bear in mind due to its idyllic rural setting it can on occasion be quite slow.

In the Area

Ideally located to make the most of both the North and South Cornish coast, Skylark is just perfect. On the North coast, cyclists and walkers alike will love the Camel Trail which runs alongside the iconic estuary towards Wadebridge and Padstow and you can hire bikes in nearby Wadebridge. The nearest beach is Rock, a 20-minute drive away whilst there's a plethora of other beaches just waiting to be discovered such as Polzeath and the seven sandy beaches of Padstow. Head to the South coast for The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan, whilst a visit to Fowey, home to fabulous places to eat and great shops, is a must. There's also lots to do right on your doorstep. Skylark is positioned in the middle of three lush woods, making it a great base for mountain-biking and walking. You can also walk or cycle to the Camel Valley Vineyard - the largest vineyard in Cornwall and perfect for tastings and a tour.
