'When we came over the shoulder of the wild hill, above the sea, to Zennor, I felt we were coming into the Promised Land...I feel like a Columbus who can see a shadowy America before him, only this isn't merely territory, it is a new continent of the soul.' - D.H Lawrence 1916

What a beauty! Kerrowe Cottage is a beautiful, traditional cottage in the iconic village of Zennor close to St Ives. Open the door to this whitewashed lovely and you'll step into a home stay filled to the brim with original features yet beautifully restored with luxurious, rich furnishings. In every room you'll find interesting art work often by very well-known local artists. Ideal for families or a couple wanting a bit more space, it's a glorious dog-friendly retreat perfect for exploring the west of Cornwall. Additionally, the garden, with huge sea views, has a fabulous Shepherd's Hut - perfect for whiling an afternoon away.

Living

The snug living room is made for cosy nights in, with a large fireplace and fab wood burning stove to curl up next to during the cooler months. There's plenty of seating with a sofa, two pretty armchairs and a cute window seat for watching the world go by.

Eating

The stunning, country-chic kitchen and dining area has a huge fireplace with a wood burning stove at its heart, and has a gorgeous light olive George Robinson kitchen with fabulous granite worktops and a butler's sink. We love the stylish tiles behind the hob! Fully equipped with everything you would expect from a luxurious kitchen and with lovely tableware and a Lavazza coffee machine, you'll have a wonderful time creating feasts in this kitchen. Please note that due to the quirky nature of being such an old cottage, the beamed ceiling is quite low here so taller people should mind their heads!

The dining table, nestled in front of the wood burning stove, easily seats six and is perfect for long dinners and chats. Additionally, there's a lovely window seat.

Sleeping

Two gorgeous bedrooms await you; the master bedroom has a dreamy king-sized Loaf bed, with calming shades of blue, greys and white throughout which will help you drift off to blissful sleep. The other bedroom has cute twin beds - fabulous for little ones. Both are beautifully decorated in luxe linens and sumptuous throws.

Bathing

There are two shower rooms at Kerrowe - the first is next to the twin bedroom on the first floor and has a brilliant walk-in flower head shower, under floor heating and a heated towel rail. The second is accessible from the garden and close to the Shepherd's Hut - ideal so you don't need to go inside the cottage if you're outside. This has a walk-in shower, toilet and lovely exposed walls. It also doubles up as the utility room with a washer/dryer and a butler's sink.

Shepherd's Hut

Out in the garden is a fabulous little secret - your very own hut, complete with a wood burner, seating, fridge and sink so you can set yourselves up nicely for a lazy afternoon making the most of the glorious sea views - what bliss! The sunsets here are amazing - if you feel inspired to paint them there is an art box as well as cushions and rugs for your trip to the Minack Theatre.

Outdoor space

The garden lies to the back and side of the house and is surprisingly large, winding its way up the hill to a panoramic terrace with a bench, armchairs and table where, on a clear day, you can even see as far as the Scillies. Immediately outside the stable kitchen door is a completely sheltered terrace for dining with a Neptune granite table, chairs and cushions. The whole garden is bathed in sunshine all day long with other peaceful places to sit and relax.

WiFi

Kerrowe Cottage has WiFi so should you need to keep in touch with the outside world you can.

Dogs

One dog, over 18 months, is very welcome and the back garden is totally enclosed so they can explore freely. We charge £35 per dog per week or short break.

Parking

There's parking for two cars at Kerrowe Cottage.

You'll be spoilt for choice for things to do whilst staying at Kerrowe. Zennor is a pretty village lying on one of the most scenic roads in the UK on the north Cornish coast between St Ives St Just. Turn right from the house and you are 10 minutes' walk from the wonderfully atmospheric Tinner's Arms pub in Zennor, turn left and it's a 20-minute walk to the renowned Gurnard's Head pub with wonderful food. Head east and St Ives is there to be explored, with the Tate and all the art galleries, the gorgeous golden sandy beaches, fabulous restaurants and lots of independent shops. Head west to St Just and Land's End and you can explore the glorious wild coastline - make sure to take yourself off along the south west coastal path, just a 10-minute stroll from Kerrowe. Follow the coast around to Sennen, a lovely village with an incredible beach (great for surfing) and then on to the south coast with Mousehole, Newlyn and Penzance - all well worth exploring.

This Cornish cottage is about as traditional as it gets, yet is super-luxurious and has a fab Shepherd's Hut with immense sea views.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Kerrowe Cottage:

Above Fantastic situation for the tip of Cornwall, most places within 30 mins. Two excellent pubs nearby, The Tinners is in Zennor, food good and staff the best we came across, so friendly, nothing too much trouble, we actually went there 4 times over the period of a week, can 100% recommend the fish and chips, you have to be hungry to finish it!

Perfect location in a wonderful part of the country

A perfect holiday cottage in a spectacular location

A wonderful cottage in the most extraordinarily perfect location.

A lovely cottage retreat - so peaceful and the shepherds hut is a wonderful place for a late afternoon G&T with views to the coast!

Fantastic little cottage with great views in a peaceful location, within easy distance of many of Cornwall's best spots.

Lovely cosy cottage with everything we needed. Zennor itself is beautiful with interesting history. The cottage is a great base from which to explore the lovely surrounding area

Such a beautiful cottage so clean bathrooms were superb kitchen was amazing loads of towels provided Lovely garden

Wonderful weather let us make the most of the wonderful views and multiple seating areas in the garden. Great situation walking distance to Zennor cafe, pub and coast path. The cottage was superb. Only shock was the height of the downstairs ceilings throughout which is so low that unless you were 5'9"or below you cannot stand out. This made it miserable for my son at 6'3" and husband at 6'. I was Ok at 5'3" I am amazed that this isn't mentioned in the blurb. It is the only reason we couldn't stay again sadly.

A must if you love the outdoors a perfect retreat just when it was needed most

Amazing location rich in history that we were unaware of until we arrived. Gorgeous cottage just as described. Loved our cozy autumnal evenings by the log fires while Cornish winds blew. Blessed with amazing weather during the days and visited the Roseland Peninsular, Lands End, The Minack Theatre and the best rock pool beach ever, Gwithian. Thank you!

A lovely cottage, well fitted out, near the coastal path. A place to relax and recharge.
