This enchanting escape is the most heavenly sanctuary for those looking to flee the everyday in pursuit of the Dartmoor wilderness and luxury escapism.
Concierge service
From the moment you arrive to a crackling fire, chilled Champagne and generous hamper to the moment you leave, the owners of The Bothy are on hand to make your stay truly perfect. Whether you would like shopping brought in for you so you don't have to worry about buying it en route, advice on the best walks and local pubs, they're happy to help. In addition, wax country coats, wellies, binoculars, brollies and Ordnance Survey maps will be left for you. If you have any requirements, just get in touch prior to your holiday to see how they can help.
Living and sleeping
The open-plan living and sleeping space is just divine with vaulted ceiling, exposed wooden beams and Velux windows which make room beautifully bright during the day and at night offers a glimpse of the breath-taking blanket of stars above. In addition, warm oak flooring feels soft underfoot, whilst dark part-panelled walls create a striking contrast against white walls.
The finishing touches are particularly special at The Bothy; we just love the antler chandelier which adds a touch of country chic, whilst the cosy linen sofa and bespoke kilim footstool is ideally positioned to snuggle up and make the most of the cosy Di Lusso wood burning stove on cooler days. In addition, there's a Smart television, Bose SoundTouch 10 sound system and a radio.
The king size bed is gorgeous, set against the whitewashed exposed stone wall and bedecked in Mulberry bespoke headboard, valance and scatter cushions. Swathed in Egyptian cotton bedding and a sheepskin heated blanket, you'll enjoy a deep, restorative nights' sleep. Instead of bedside tables there are two matching Georgian chests of drawers whilst you'll find space for hanging clothes in a hidden-away wardrobe in the entrance hall. In the morning, enjoy breakfast in bed whilst gazing though the window at the jaw-dropping moorland views - we couldn't think of anything nicer!
Eating
The stylish, extraordinary kitchen is made for creating feasts. The Smeg Victoria gas hob and combination pizza oven is marvellous whilst the Belfast sink with antique brass taps, fridge with freezer compartment, full size dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine and Dualit appliances will make cooking a pleasure. The gorgeous wooden work tops, vintage lighting, dark cupboards and shelving are beautifully eye-catching whilst the petite breakfast bar is perfect for meals tête-à-tête.
Bathing
The shower room lies next to the entance hall and has a surprisingly spacious walk in shower with a six-inch rose and a separate hand-held shower. There's a rail to keep towels warm and fluffy too.
Outdoor space
Lucky you! To the front of The Bothy lies your own private garden with extensive views over Dartmoor. Tranquil, restful and restorative, there's a summer house, Lutyens bench and table, two sun loungers and Weber barbeque to make the most of outside living, whilst there's access to a tennis court and croquet lawn (not for the professional!) whilst you can also wander to the kitchen garden for seasonal fruit, vegetables and herbs.
Spa room
To make your stay extra special, there's a spa treatment room available for massage, reflexology, facial massage, hot stone massage and deep tissue massage on Saturdays or Thursdays. This can be booked prior to your stay - please let us know and we'll put you in touch with the owner.
