Take the external stairs to this first floor retreat and you'll discover a warm, friendly welcome with a fabulous kitchen, laid back but beautiful sitting area and an elevated mezzanine level bedroom.
Close to Exeter, Red Brick Loft is also fabulously located to explore the beautiful south Devonshire coastline or head inland to discover the wilds of Dartmoor or the plethora of villages that dot the countryside.

Living and eating

Just wow! We absolutely love this incredible open plan space. High, vaulted ceilings create space whilst the numerous windows and French doors let in plenty of light creating a peaceful, calming room.

The sitting area lies to the centre of the room where a gorgeously comfy L-shaped sofa lies waiting to welcome you, whether it's to collapse in with a book, for cuddling up on to watch a film or your favourite series on the Smart TV or simply to sit and chat, watching the flickering flames of the wood burner.

The fabulous kitchen which runs the length of the wall houses everything you'll need to rustle up your favourite meals, or discover new dishes using the wonderful local ingredients found at the local farm shop. There's an induction hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and all the other essentials you should need.

Opposite is the impressive farmhouse dining table with bench and chairs, plus fabulous pendent lighting - the perfect spot for celebratory meals. Take the French windows outside and there's another table and chairs for outside dining during warmer months.

Sleeping

Take the stairs up to the mezzanine level where you'll find a dreamy super king bedroom, in comforting darker shades to help you fall into a deep slumber. As well as the super comfy bed swathed in luxurious linens, throws and cushions, there's a built-in wardrobe, occasional chair and bedside table.

Bathing

The fabulous bathroom boasts a freestanding bathtub for two - perfect for long, luxurious soaks - plus a large walk in shower and double sinks. There's also a heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy and underfloor heating to keep toes toasty warm.

Outside Space

Step through the French windows by the kitchen and you'll discover a sun-soaked raised deck, with views of the fields and countryside beyond. There's a dining table and chairs for alfresco meals, as well as a bench seat lounger, two deck chairs, a fire pit and log seating. This is a wonderful spot for star gazing, wrapped up and kept warm by the heat of the firepit - bliss!

Red Brick Loft is set within 60 acres of stunning countryside, boasting unforgettable views over rolling fields - just perfect for sunset chasers and nature lovers. If you're seeking a little outdoor adventure, uncover a plethora of trails around the retreat including circular walks for afternoon ambling. Along with the promise of dreamy barbeque spots on balmy summer nights and mesmerising Devonshire views, Red Brick Loft is sure to capture your heart...

Setting

Nestled in a blissfully rural location, this retreat's unique setting makes it an incredibly special escape from reality. Please note that the retreat is one mile from the local village, with nearby amenities and restaurants ranging from one to five miles away, and the city of Exeter is just seven miles away. Although these may be considered short distances for avid ramblers, the terrain is hilly, so walkers do need to be of average endurance to explore by foot.

The access lanes to this retreat are narrow, although never inaccessible, we would advise guests to be comfortable with reversing vehicles if choosing this retreat.

In the Area

Deep in the heart of Devon, there's plenty to see, do and eat in the area. There are some fabulous pubs just a short distance away such as the Thorverton Arms up the road, The Cadeleigh Arms near Tiverton and the Fisherman's Cot in Bickleigh. There's also the Exe Valley Farm Shop, a must for picking up local food and drink for you to enjoy. You're not far from Exeter - a bustling city with an amazing cathedral and lots to see and do. Also nearby are the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor which are a must for walkers and cyclists with plenty of paths and trails to explore. In addition, take the scenic Tarka Trail Route to the rugged coast and surf beaches of Croyde and Woolacombe on the North Devon coast. Make sure to visit the lovely South Devon coast too and there are several National Trust properties nearby such as Knightshayes and Killerton, famous for their period houses and gardens alike.

Country chic and magnificent, this amazing loft conversion in the rolling Devonshire is simply divine and is a wonderful escape for couples seeking a luxurious rural getaway.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Red Brick Loft:

amazing retreat in an amazing location with amazing generous hosts and in a brilliant location beautifully decorated to a very high standard.

Very rural, peaceful location. Wonderful barn conversion - everything you need for a relaxing break away from city life.

Red Brick loft is a stunning retreat in a beautiful location. Stylish interiors and home comforts with a wonderful log burner make it the perfect pad to return to after a day exploring. The deck gets afternoon sunshine so a nice spot to enjoy an al fresco meal.

A perfect getaway that exceeded our expectations, in a wonderful location tucked away on a hilltop.

The bedroom space on the mezzanine floor is a real treat and extremely comfortable and quite unique. Also the kitchen equipment gave us everything we needed to enjoy self-catering especially as the Exe Valley Farm Shop sold a wonderful range of top quality produce. We would also recommend Cadleigh Arms as our favorite place to eat out.

We spent a delightful relaxing week in the Red Brick Loft. We loved everything about it. Excellent accomodation in tranquil and beautiful countryside.

5 star as ticked every box we wanted, boutique barn conversion which had everything you need for a week. The kitchen, lounge dinner was so large and relaxing that we didn't want to leave. Amazing views from the house and great location as a base to explore Devon. Owners were lovely and attentive for any questions.

The most picturesque location and lovely hosts. They welcomed us when we arrived and left us to our stay afterwards. It’s all you can hope for in a mini break, we will absolutely be coming back!
