Just steps from the heart of Lustleigh, a quintessentially English village complete with a village green, church, pub and tea rooms, this rose and jasmine-covered brick house is simply charming and a welcome balm from the busyness of everyday life. Step through the doors and you'll find a peaceful escape with beautiful interiors, underfloor heating for cooler nights, gorgeous original features and a warm welcome. Whether you're a couple or a family, this is a wonderful home stay and a fabulous base from which to explore the wonders that Dartmoor has to offer, whilst the coast is only a 30-minute drive away.
Living

The sitting room lies to the front of the house and is a pretty, cosy spot with a striking marble fireplace and a fabulous wood burning stove. There's a comfy three-seater sofa plus an additional armchair - the perfect spot for relaxing at the end of the day after exploring beautiful Dartmoor. For film nights, there's a 43-inch Smart TV.

To the back there's a pretty sunroom whose glass doors lead into the garden. With a two-seater sofa and two rattan armchairs, this is an ideal spot for coffee and papers in the morning with the doors open to let the soft summer breezes in.

In addition, on the first floor you'll find a small TV snug - perfect for little ones who want to watch their own films, play games or read a book.

Eating

The fabulous galley kitchen with bespoke white painted cupboards, wooden worktops, Belfast sink and eye-catching black electric Aga is a perfect haven for budding chefs and beginners alike, with everything on hand to rustle up tasty treats and sumptuous feasts including the Aga, a dishwasher and a microwave. There's also a Miele washing machine and separate tumble dryer just in case.

The dining area is just next door and has a cosy round table and chairs perfect for four people. For warmer sunny days, there's also a table and chairs in the garden for a spot of alfresco dining.

Sleeping

There are two stunning bedrooms to choose from. The master bedroom lies on the first floor and is pure elegance in shades of emerald and grey. Boasting a luxurious king sized bed, it's the perfect spot for lazy lie-ins and breakfasts in bed, gazing out the window at the trees rustling in the breeze. In addition, there's fitted wardrobes providing plenty of storage space, a dressing table and occasional chair. We just love the sumptuous green velvet bedspread.

Climb the wooden stairs to the second floor and you'll find the other bedroom tucked amongst the eaves - a light, bright room with warm wood floors, Velux windows and a zip-and-link bed which means it can either be twins or a super king bed, swathed in a blue velvet bedspread and plentiful cushions. There's plenty of storage hidden away in the eaves plus a dressing table and full-length mirror.

Bathing

There's a pretty bathroom with gorgeous freestanding bath and handheld shower (perfect for long soaks) and a huge, separate walk in shower with rainfall head. There's also a heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy, and you'll find an additional handy loo on the first floor.

Outdoor space

From the sunroom, take the steps down onto the small patio where you'll find a dining table and chairs for alfresco meals complete with a pretty parasol. Follow the winding path though the small cottage garden, dotted with pretty flowers and shrubs, to the bench - a lovely sunny spot from which to enjoy sundowners or maybe while away an hour or two with a good book.

Parking

There is parking for one car at the front with additional on road parking in the village if need be.

A travel cot, highchair and stairgate can be provided on request.

In the Area

Nestled in a tree-laden valley in Dartmoor, the village of Lustleigh is regarded as the prettiest village on Dartmoor. Once there you won't need to go anywhere else if you don't want to; you'll find hundreds of fabulous walks and trails from the doorstep, whilst the Primrose Tea Rooms and The Cleave Pub are just steps from the cottage.

Beyond the village, foodies will find a fine array of places to eat, particularly Gidleigh Park, holder of two Michelin stars. Art lovers will find a vibrant scene with the Open Studios in September and the Dartmoor Artisan Trail all year long. The very beautiful Contemporary Craft Festival in June is a fine display of the country's best makers. And if the beach is your thing, Devon's coastline is as stunning as any in the world with the famous South West Coastal Path 30 minutes' drive away.
