Prospect House is an impressive sight; with its red brick façade and frontage spanning four large sash windows, it dominates the characterful and historic cobbled street in the heart of Poole. Step through the glossy black front door and it's easy to imagine characters from an Austen novel residing in this majestic Georgian red brick town house for the summer, where original features and antiques blend effortlessly with state-of-the-art facilities. Think sweeping staircases, opulent bedrooms, cosy yet elegant living spaces and a welcoming open fire to greet you. Poole itself is a delightful Dorset town where you can wander along the quay and marvel at the super yachts, tuck yourself away in many of the fabulous eateries or take a trip out of town and explore the stunning Jurassic coastline.

The stunning drawing room is set to the right of the front door and is a delightfully warm and inviting room to relax in. Resplendent in reds and creams, gorgeous original, mainly Georgian artwork line the walls including a stunning embroidered sampler dating from 1841 in pristine condition. You'll find one wall lined with a vast selection of books, so in quiet moments you can curl up on one of the plump, cosy sofas in front of the warmth of the open fire - bliss!

Alternatively, head downstairs into the beautifully renovated cinema room lined with iconic prints of Dorset where you'll find lots of seating and a huge television (complete with Sky) and a SONOS sound system - perfect for kids, young or old. We adore the fab lighting and exposed beams here too.


Just wow - this beautiful space is clean, light and bright with white walls, stylish grey kitchen, fabulous oak floors and a surprising roof light which floods the pretty dining table below in sunshine. French windows, dressed in voile white curtains, lead out onto a gorgeous cobbled terrace - perfect for alfresco dining in summer months.

The kitchen comes complete with everything you'll need for feasts, whilst there's a vast selection of cookery books to inspire you. There's a cute breakfast bar in addition to the dining table for snacks on the go. We just love the antique Staffordshire blue and white pottery on display that artfully compliments the touches of blue throughout this wonderful room. A fabulous spot for entertaining!

Sleeping & Bathing

Take the impressive stairs lined with bespoke wallpaper based on an original Georgian design as well as other artwork, including a fascinating diorama, and on the first floor you'll find two fabulous double en suite bedrooms.

Firstly, the pretty 'green' bedroom with gorgeous comfy king-size French bed, bags of storage, stunning wallpaper, window looking out front onto the cobbled street, and breath-taking en suite bathroom, complete with roll top bath and green panelled walls.

The second bedroom is glorious in shades of grey with a lovely brass king-size bed, en suite rainforet shower room and has a window overlooking the garden.

Take the stairs to the second floor and you'll find the landing filled with childhood treasures from a fascinating doll's house to adorable antique toy dog collection. On this level there's a light, airy 'blue' room which overlooks the garden and has a king size bed and en suite rainforest shower room with walk-in shower.

The fourth 'red' bedroom has a super king bed which can be kept as a double or made into twins, whilst the en suite bathroom is just adorable with a hand-painted mural of tropical birds (see if you can find the escapee in the bedroom!).

All the bedrooms come complete with sumptuous bedding, whilst the en suites all have heated rails to keep towels warm and fluffy.

Outside space

There's a garden to the back of the property accessed through the French windows in the kitchen, where you'll find a stone terrace, lawn, a dining table, chairs, canopy and a barbeque and three fun beach huts - one with logs, one with bicycles and the third with bins..


Prospect House has WiFi so if you need to stay in touch with the outside world you can.


Two well-behaved dogs are very welcome at Prospect House.


There's a private garage for one car just a short walk from the house. An additional parking permit can be arranged by providing the car's registration number. Any further cars can park in the Quay Visitor's car park.

In the Area

Poole is a fabulous place to stay, from its golden sandy beaches stretching over three miles, huge natural harbour (the largest in Europe), Jurassic coastline and eight islands, including famous Brownsea Island, home of the Scouting movement and is beautifully wooded with lots of trails (and red squirrels!). As you can imagine, there's water sports aplenty available for the active, or maybe a boat trip for something a bit more sedate. Walk or cycle the coastline, explore the town and make sure to try out the fab places to eat, including The Guildhall Tavern - the best restaurant in town - only a minutes' walk away, and Baffi Pizzeria whilst a visit to The Pig on The Beach is a must. Pop in the car and explore nearby Studland, super-luxe Sandbanks, the New Forest and the coastline along towards Lyme Regis.
