This in turn leads onto a fantastic bar room, with more than a nod to '70's chic glamour - the perfect spot to perch on a stool, drinking martinis, or head behind the bar to whip up a cocktail or two.

This room leads on to the main large living room complete with large velvet sofa, armchairs, a swinging chairs and a Smart TV to catch up on boxsets and films. With views over the garden, glass doors lead out on to the grass and can be left open on warm days to let the gorgeous country air flow through - bliss!

Take the hallway to the other side of the house and a large cinema/playroom awaits, complete with full size air hockey table, perfect for young ones complete with en suite bathroom. Beyond this room is a day bedroom complete with four bunk beds and a day bed - the ultimate chill out room!

In addition, there's a separate utility room at the far end of the house which houses a washing machine and tumble dryer.

The dining room lies next to the kitchen and has wonderful views over the garden from the huge window that stretches across the width of the room. With wooden floors and a dining table for ten (with additional folding chairs for two), it's a wonderful space for dinner parties and celebratory meals.

Why we’re in love with the autumn getaway

Have you noticed? The leaves are beginning to fall, and you need to put the lights on that bit earlier. It’s official – autumn is well on its way. Here’s to embracing the changing season!

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Purbeck House:

We really enjoyed our stay. The house has a cool 70s retro vibe and we loved hanging out here. Plenty of indoor and outdoor room to socialise either all together, in smaller groups or by yourself in a comfy chair and enjoy the view of the garden. We were in an all adult group but the house would be perfect to take children too.

It was a great place for a relaxing weekend away with friends. Fantastic location and great facilities for kids and grownups alike. Highly recommended.

A beautiful, spacious house in a wonderful location. Perfect for large groups and families (especially those with young kids). The ground floor ‘day bedroom’ is just a child’s dream.

Purbeck House is absolutely stunning, an idyllic retreat where you can really kick back & relax. It's perfect for multigenerational families, providing a little bit of heaven for everyone.

We will as a family, always hold fond memories of our stay at Purbeck House.
