In the heart of the ancient Cotswold village of Shipton-under-Wychwood, you will find our enchanting retreat for six. This 16th century, Grade II listed home has been tastefully renovated to a high standard, with bold and quirky décor beautifully complementing the historic features, offering touches of luxury to every carefully curated corner. For sun-soaked days where alfresco brunches and refreshing aperitifs are at the forefront of the agenda, you will find a heavenly enclosed garden with suntrap spaces, whilst the chillier months are equally as inviting, with an open fire at the heart of the lounge promising cosy fireside moments with your nearest and dearest. For evening tipples and hearty pub grub, The Lamb Inn is 2-minutes by foot and the delightful towns of Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold and postcard pretty villages of Lower and Upper slaughter are just a short drive away. The family favourite Cotswold Wildlife Park is only 12-minutes by car too.
Special lower occupancy rate
A special lower occupancy rate applies outside of school holidays, peak weeks, bank holidays, Christmas and New Year.
A 10% discount for parties of 4 guests or less. At this rate, the twin room will not be available to you.

Living
The cosy living room radiates old world charm, with striking Cole & Son wallpaper, historic windows, a spellbinding original fireplace and rustic exposed beams. There's plenty of seating in beautiful bold tones which complement the quirky décor, with a plush L-shaped sofa and two comfortable occasional chairs. You'll also find a darling window seat to sit end enjoy the sun's rays as you turn the pages of your latest paperback companion. Enjoy wholesome family favourites on the Smart TV, with Netflix and Amazon Prime streaming services to cater to all your entertainment needs. A selection of family-friendly games provides endless entertainment for cosy nights in front of the open fire, with the addition of a Marshall speaker to soundtrack your holiday playlist.
Eating and dining
At the far end of the retreat, you will find the stunning farmhouse style kitchen, with forest green cupboards and polished granite worktops, which complement the rustic exposed beams and stone feature wall. The kitchen is fully equipped, with an induction hob and oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. For creamy morning lattes, there's a Nespresso coffee machine with a milk frother and Grind coffee capsules. A farmhouse style dining table sits at the far end of the kitchen, with seating for six to enjoy sumptuous suppers with glasses of vintage red in hand.
Sleeping and bathing
There are three heavenly bedrooms at Keeper's Cottage, all of which are split over the first and second floors. On the first floor, you will find the master bedroom, a vibrant vision with Farrow & Ball Aranami wallpaper and enchanting original features. For moments of rest, you will find a king-sized bed, with an Emma mattress and a charming rattan headboard. Store your belongings in the cute antique chest of drawers, which sits besides an original feature fireplace.
The ensuite shower room is simply a dream, with a beautifully tiled walk-in shower in pastel pink hues. Savour heavenly moments under the rainfall shower, where 100 Acres products add a touch of luxury to your morning rituals.
Also on the first floor, there's an oh-so-sweet twin room that is perfect for flexible sleeping arrangements, with pretty floral décor and plush twin beds with Emma mattresses encased in luxurious linens, cushions and throws. On the landing, you will find a cupboard for storing your treasures.
Uncover the third bedroom tucked in the eaves of the second floor, with a king-sized bed and a sumptuous Emma mattress to promise a blissful night's sleep. Cosy blue throws and crisp white linens complement the rich headboard and retro bedside tables, with Pooky lamps set either side of the grand bed. There's also a hanging rail for hanging garments.
The family bathroom is located on the first floor, dressed in calming, neutral shades. Enjoy the view out of the bathroom window surrounded by bubble-topped soaks using 100 Acres bath oils and salts after days spent exploring the Cotswolds. There is also a handheld shower attachment for wake-me-up moments.
Parking
There is off-road parking for two cars at Keeper's Cottage, plus a charging point for electric cars on request.
Babies and children
Babies and children are most welcome at Keeper's Cottage. A travel cot and highchair are available on request. You will also find plastic plates and cups, plus a selection of children's books in the retreat.
Dogs
One well-behaved dog is welcome at Keeper's Cottage. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break. Inside, you will find dog bowls and treats, plus a hose outdoors for washing muddy paws.
Outdoor Space
The enclosed garden is split over two levels, with a pale-toned patio on the lower level. Gather around the outdoor dining table for sun-soaked brunches, with a parasol to savour shaded moments and comfortable seating for up to eight. There's also a barbeque for freshly grilled delights. For moments of quietude, you will find a sheltered corner with a sweet bench, perfectly positioned to soak up the afternoon sun as you lounge with your latest page turner in hand. A luscious lawn sits on the upper level, with two sun loungers for basking in the summer sunshine. Please note that there is a steep drop from the garden to the patio, so children and dogs must be supervised when outdoors.
In the Area
Located within the ancient village of Shipton-under-Wychwood, there are some fantastic eateries a short walk from your front door, with The Lamb Inn only two minutes away and The Wychwood Inn just a 10-minute stroll. Perfectly positioned within the heart of the Cotswolds AONB, a brief journey by car will find you winding through the chocolate-box pretty towns of Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and the quaint villages of Lower and Upper Slaughter. The iconic Daylesford Organic is just 15 minutes by car, with a host of delicious groceries, home, and garden wear. For a fun day out with the family, visit the Cotswold Wildlife Park, with stunning gardens, parklands and a diverse array of animals. If you enjoy fishing, Bibury Trout Farm is also just a short drive away from Keeper's Cottage.
