Living
Enter our beautiful retreat from the front decking area to reveal a chic open-plan living space which offers all the comforts you could wish for. In soothing hues of soft white and rich purples, this space offers a restful interior style just perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows at the front of the Lodge present tranquil views to complement your fresh morning coffee.
With a superb, semi-circular sofa just made for reclining in Boutique-style, unwinding with loved ones or family film nights. You’ll find four Samsung Smart TV’s in Muir, each with a selection of Sky TV channels and movies on demand (charges apply). For those cosy nights, there's also a selection of board games and books to enjoy. In addition, there's a LG Bluetooth speaker in the lounge and all bedrooms to create the soundtrack to your holiday.
Eating
Within the open-plan living space, discover a stylish Poggenpohl kitchen with all the mod-cons you could need to rustle up a delicious banquet, including the additional luxury of a slimline dishwasher, microwave, Siemens appliances, double sink and the all-important coffee machine. The lovely dining table for six is perfect for formal feasts or pared-back brunches alike, we simply love the Tom Raffield Skipper Pendant ceiling light adding a touch of Scandi-style charm.
Sleeping and bathing
There are three beautiful bedrooms to choose from, each with sumptuous bedding from the Mascioni hotel collection, for nothing short of blissful slumber. Within each bedroom you will find a Samsung Smart TV with a selection of Sky channels, a safe and a well-stocked automatic minibar, along with a phone in all rooms should you wish to reach the duty manager on site.
The ground floor bedroom is dressed in calming grey hues with twin beds. On warmer days, throw open the door to welcome a soft breeze from the rear outside space, where you’ll find a bubbling hot tub beneath rolling mountain views.
From the main living space, follow the winding staircase to reach the first floor where bedrooms two and three reside. Bedroom two offers a spacious king size bed and a spectacular trilateral aspect window leading out to a private balcony. Along with storage space, only restful slumbers await in this gorgeous bedroom space with views over Loch Lomond.
Bedroom three holds the sumptuous double bed which lies beneath a magnificent lighting feature, along with storage space.
You’ll find two stylish wet rooms in the Lodge, one located on each of the floors. Both wet rooms feature Temple Spa products and a Toto washlet in the downstairs wet room, which combines wellness, cleanliness and sustainability and Hansgrohe rainfall drench showers as well as underfloor heating.
Outdoor space
With delightful views towards the Loch, uncover a decking area to the front of Muir with relaxed outdoor seating just perfect for unwinding with a cocktail or two. Indulge with your own bubbling hot tub found in the rear outdoor space, along with an al fresco dining table and chairs. In addition, discover the communal barbeque hut for the ultimate dining experience (please note this is shared with the other Lodges).
On the water
For the seekers of water-based adventure, your stay at Muir is just the beginning. Discover the Loch's jetty with access to deep water moorings, if you fancy bringing along your own boat, or set off on a boat trip with hire options. For the wild at heart, you'll find a variety of exciting water sports and Loch activities for hours of entertainment on the water; from jet ski’s, paddle boards and kayaks all available to hire. Hire the Luxury Azimut 43-foot flybridge yacht, including the option of a fine dining
experience, which accommodates up to ten persons (subject to license and availability). Ardlui offers half day water skiing, wakeboarding and speed boat tours please be advised these activities are in high demand during the summer months and should be booked in advance to avoid disappointment.
On the land
For those who prefer the comfort of dry land underfoot, there are activities aplenty to occupy adventurous souls, from a wonderful motorhome for hire to explore the surrounding landscape in style to bicycle hire, head to the Loch for unforgettable nights beneath starry skies, or why not take the ferry to the west highland way to follow the paths of this famous walk .Fire pit moments await you on the edge of the loch. Not forgetting the indoor barbeque hut which comfortably seats 10 people.
Wellness
If you want to keep fit whilst on holiday, there's a state-of-the-art gym with Technogym equipment (24-hour access) plus sun bed hire, shared with the other guests staying in the Ardlui Lodges.

Ardlui Retreat has a state of the art air conditioned gymnasium with 24-hour access, the equipment comprises of Technogym run personal treadmills designed by Antonio Citterio with 21.5” screens with integrated loudspeakers to let you watch, listen and interact while training, without any distractions. These treadmills are suitable for beginners and sport professionals alike, each treadmill comes with a touchscreen and virtual live trainer who will guide you through a one on one session, offering encouragement and suggesting the level of intensity, which you are free to follow or change.
Technogym Bike Personal:
Why not try our bike personal bikes and get more engagement and motivation than ever with a personal trainer at your fingertips that will guide you through a one-on-one session, choose among techno sessions, routines, beautiful outdoor scenery, and reach your best shape.
Technogym Skilrow Rower:
Our Skillrow rower developed with professional athletes improves both your cardio and power with diverse total body workouts and with the most realistic rowing feel in its class. Download the Skillrow app before your workout and then dive straight into the action. Pick a challenge, train with the best and get real-time feedback on your performance metrics. Everything you need to train like a champion is in the Skillrow app, choose from goal oriented (time, distance, calories and repetitions) interval training and TNT programmes developed by exercise professionals.
Rack Personal:
Rack personal ensures maximum safety thanks to the innovative smart lock and precision glide systems, allowing user friendly barbell support locking and a smooth, fluid sliding movement of the safety bars. It also includes an ergonomic, chrome plated steel bar pull up with multi grip. Your personal rack ensures an effective and safe strength training system.
Additional costs
Please note the rental price of the property does not include certain services and facilities which have additional costs such as: hire of the yacht, water skis, water sports and equipment, campervan and bike hire, mini bar, nightly berthing fees and launching in and out. These facilities are separately managed by Ardlui and not Boutique Retreats and must be booked directly with Ardlui in advance of your stay. These have additional costs and are subject to availability, due to being shared with the other retreats.
Housekeeping service
There is daily housekeeping available during your stay at an additional charge, there is also a duty manager who lives on site and is always ready to help you.
Alcohol purchase and consumption
The premises are licensed for the sale of alcohol in terms of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 for which the proprietors carry responsibility as licence holders. On that account you are advised that the consumption of guests’ own alcohol is strictly prohibited. Only alcohol purchased on site or pre-ordered at the time of booking can be consumed within the accommodation and grounds.
Parking
Muir is accessed via a secure code protected gated entrance. There is off road parking for two cars, plus electric charging facilities (tokens can be purchased at reception).
Babies and children
A highchair and travel cot are available on request, please kindly bring your own bedding if you require use of a travel cot.
Dogs
One well-behaved dog is very welcome at Muir, we charge £35 per week or per short stay.

Set deep within The Trossachs National Park, follow the tour to explore the surrounding landscapes and awe-inspiring vistas of magical Scotland. Why not head to Lomond shores for some retail therapy or take a visit the Sealife centre nearby. Whether you long to gaze over the endless splendour of Loch Lomond at nearby beauty spots, don your walking boots to explore mountainous terrains on foot or jump in the car to follow wondrous, weaving roads and journey through the local area - untamed adventures await. From whiskey tours to castle wandering, spa days to golf trips, there are so many hidden gems to explore in the mystical world beyond Muir.
WiFi
Due to the gorgeously remote location, WiFi connectivity is very weak. However, there is an option to hire a commerical SIM for the duration of your stay at an additional cost subject to availability.
There is free WiFi in Muir but there is a charge for premium WiFi due to the retreat's geographical location. Premium WiFi is chargeable at £5.00 per day per device.
