Croeso! Welcome to charming Riverside in the stunning Snowdonia National Park. And what a home stay it is - nestled deep in a valley, surrounded by trees and mountains and with a river running in front and a waterfall behind. The main house is a gorgeous stone cottage and is just as beautiful inside, with traditional features such as the tiled floors and a huge fireplace complimented beautifully with contemporary design. Additionally, there's a beautiful one bedroom boutique cottage called Little Falls next door with vaulted ceilings, a wood burner and gorgeous interiors. This lovely retreat is ideal for smaller families and couples too plus being dog-friendly you can certainly make the most of the incredibly beautiful walks that Snowdonia has to offer whilst also being just a ten-minute drive from the coast.
Living

Riverside is made up of two cottages next door to each other, when booked as a sleep 5 your booking includes both cottages; if you book as a couple your booking is at the one bedroomed Little Falls, and the main cottage will be closed off during this time. In the main cottage a super-snug living space awaits with warm-coloured tiled floors and a lovely wood-burning stove below a huge slate lintel. We just adore the deep leather sofas - perfect for curling up in and watching the flickering flames of the fire. Of course, there's all the modern comforts too with a Smart TV and SONOS surround sound system for those evenings when only a film will to or when you need a soundtrack to your day. In Little Falls, there's a spacious living area which is flooded with light and has French windows which open on to the fabulous garden and river beyond. We love the tiled floor and fabulous grey and copper lights above, and a deep-seated leather sofa is just made for cuddling up on with cushions and throws to make it extra cosy. The wood burner is just perfect for cooler evenings and there's a huge TV and a SONOS speaker.

Special 'Just for Two' rate

If a couple would like to book we offer a 20% discount, this applies all year around apart from Christmas and New Year. If you book in on this discount then only the one bedroom cottage Little Falls will be made available to you. Images of Little Falls are shown after the 'Croeso Welcome' Snowdonia National Park image in the photos above. Please call the office on 01872 553491 to book.

Eating

The kitchen in the cottage is spacious and fully-equipped with everything you'll need to whip up a meal using the abundant local ingredients you'll find out and about in the area. There's a Rangemaster cooker plus all the other essentials, and a cute little table for tête-à-tête breakfasts.

The dining room in the cottage has a sturdy oak table which easily seats four and up to six. There's an eye-catching light feature above the table and you can peek through the window to the garden and river beyond. There's an additional kitchen in Little Falls - a simple yet fully-equipped galley with everything you need to rustle up a meal or two. There's a fold-out dining table and stalls ideally located next to the sofa whilst there's also a set of table and chairs outside.

This area is rich in local produce, so make sure to pick up some goodies whilst exploring the area and bring them back to Riverside to enjoy.

Sleeping

There are three bedrooms in total, two in the main cottage and one in the barn. In the cottage, the master bedroom is a metal-framed copper double bed and comes complete with plenty of storage and even a chaise. The second bedroom is a small double and we just love that there's still an original safe set in the wall! The bedroom in Little Falls is just made for romance in shades of grey and silver, with touches of dark wood. The bed is a king, swathed in gorgeous linens, throws and cushions to ensure a blissful nights' sleep with the vaulted ceiling above, making it a deliciously light and airy room. All bedrooms come complete with gorgeous bedding, throws and cushions and fabulous countryside views.

Bathing

The two gorgeous bathrooms (one in the cottage, one in Little Falls) are resplendent in grey and both come complete with a slipper-style bath and rainfall shower overhead. There's heated rails to keep towels warm and fluffy and we just love the fab grey and white tiles.

Outdoor space

Lucky, lucky you! Riverside boasts the most amazing grassy garden that stretches down to a bubbling river at the bottom, whilst there's a lovely stone patio complete with a table and chairs for dining outside. To the back of the property and just a short walk away is a magical paradise - a hidden-away waterfall, surrounded by mossy rocks and tranquil pools - perfect for a dip in warmer months!

WiFi

Riverside and Little Falls have Fibre Broadband so if you need to stay in touch with the outside world you can, although being in this idyllic setting we don't recommend it!

Dogs

One small/medium well-behaved dog is very welcome at Riverside, we charge £30 per dog per week or short break.

Baby friendly

Please note that due to its waterside location children under 12 are not allowed at Riverside, this includes toddlers and babes in arms.

Parking

There's parking for two cars on the drive and a further two cars behind the main house.

Access

Please note that unfortuantely due to the age of the property, Riverside is not suitable for wheelchair users.

In the Area

There's so much for you to see and do in this incredible, wild part of the country. Snowdonia National Park is crammed full of mountains, woodland, lakes and rivers to explore. You're just up the road from Blaenau Ffestiniog, famed for it's caves and mining history, and today home to a scenic railway. There's a request stop for the steam train just a 30-minute walk away through the forest accessed through a gate at the rear of the property and this will either take you to Porthmadog or Blaenau Ffestiniog. If you're of the adventurous sort, try out Zip World Slate Caverns and Zip World Fforest, whilst those seeking something a little more sedate might like to visit Portmerion or the lovely little towns of Criccieth and Harlech which both come complete with a castle. The coastline is just stunning and wild, whilst a little further away you'll find Lake Bala and Lake Vyrnwy - both beautiful expanses of water. Mount Snowdon is a must - you can reach the summit by rail (one of the most beautiful journeys in the world) or walk it, if you're feeling adventurous.
