You’ll not lack for things to do in Stratford. For history buffs, head to the grand Tudor houses – Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Hall’s Croft and New Place are a must, whilst Anne Hathaway’s Cottage (Shakespeare’s wife) and Mary Arden’s House (Shakespeare’s mother) are just a few miles outside of town. You really ought to see a play, so check out the Royal Shakespeare Company’s website to see what’s on at its three theatres in town. Other places which you should check out is the Butterfly farm – the largest in Europe, whilst children (and adults!) will love the MAD (Mechanical Art & Design) Museum. Alternatively, head to the river for a boat trip or just wander the pretty town and take a look at the plentiful shops.
