Laid back and lovely with some of the most epic sea views to be found anywhere, Silvertide is a wonderful, blissful escape for couples. Hidden away in oh-so-desirable Whitsand Bay, this dog-friendly house boasts relaxed-yet-luxurious interiors and wonderful outdoor space, to include a sun-flooded terrace and a hot tub. It's also ideally situated to explore the beautiful south Cornish coastline.

Living

Truly beautiful, the stunning living space boasts glass bi-fold doors across the whole frontage to make the most of the stupendous views. The plush, luxurious sofas are just made for lounging on and gazing out to sea with your favourite tunes playing on the SONOS sound system, whilst the wood-burning stove provides cosy heat during cooler months, as does the underfloor heating. When you're looking for extra cosiness, there are floor-to-ceiling motorised black-out blinds - ideal for movie-watching on the 42-inch SMART television.

Eating

The pretty open-plan kitchen lies next to the living area and makes the most of the wonderful sea views. With a Stoves electric range-style cooker with a double oven and ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher plus all the other essentials you'll need to rustle up delicious meals, cooking will be a real pleasure. To the front of the kitchen, by the window, is a zinc-top table and chairs for indoor meals. There is also a utility area with a top loading washing machine.

Sleeping

The gorgeous, blissful bedroom in shades of white and blue has a double bed with a remote-controlled photo voltaic glass window allowing spectacular views out to see from the comfort of your bed or can be switched to opaque for privacy. Swathed in luxurious linens and bedding and with fresh sea air, you're guaranteed a good nights' sleep.

In addition, there is a second, small double bedroom suitable for an additional guest or a child should you need it.

Bathing

There's a cute shower room with large walk in shower and a heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy. There is a second, heated shower outside, behind the hot tub - ideal for washing sandy toes and wetsuits after a day on the beach.

Outdoor space

Just wow! The fabulous terraced garden to the front of the property boasts the most beautiful, uninterrupted views across the golden sands and out over the turquoise-blue seas. Directly leading off the sitting room is a sunny deck with table and chairs for alfresco dining plus further comfy chairs for lounging with a drink in hand, whilst steps to the side lead to the gorgeous cedar-clad hot tub plus an outdoor shower. Further steps lead down, passing tubs of pretty flowers, to the barbeque area then finally a grassy space with loungers for relaxing.

Parking

There is off-road parking a few minutes from the retreat, which operates on a first come, first serve basis. A guaranteed allocated space can be found nearby if required, available from April to September.

Please note that the path to the retreat has lots of steps so it isn't suitable for guests with mobility issues. If you have any queries about the access, please get in touch with the office.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Silvertide:

Spectacular views and worth the effort of the trip from parking the car to the property. But the descent is not suitable for anyone in poor health or with mobility issues.

This property is beautifully furnished with thoughtful attention to detail and stunning interior design. We loved the view so much that we decided to cook and eat at the chalet in the evenings, we really appreciated that the kitchen was so well equipped and the cooking facilities were excellent. I would recommend that guests staying here pack very lightly, ideally don't bring a large hard suitcase as you have to carry it down the many steps leading o the property. The location of this property is simply stunning!

Silvertide has the wow factor, we said wow quite a lot during our week stay, we were in awe of the view. The hot tub lit up in the evening, overlooking the sea with a Prosecco was amazing. You will not be disappointed. The cottage was very well equipped with everything you could need. A great base to explore South Cornwall.

Fantastic retreat with magical views.

The most perfect of properties, in the most perfect of locations. Real luxury.

Beautiful cabin with the best direct sea views you'll find anywhere. Superbly stocked with all the cooking equipment you'll need, including sharp knives. A smart TV with Netflix & Amazon apps. A Sonos/Bose sound system that you can play your own music through via the Sonos app. Warm blankets are provided for cooler evenings on the deck. Pack as minimally as possible, you wont need anything but clothes and a bit of food. The cliff top cafe serves excellent food too. The walk from the car park (designated space) is downhill with many steps at the top and bottom of the cliff. The cabin and the view are a prize for the hike.

This cottage is fantastic. Lovely interior, superb outsides spaces and a spectacular uninterrupted view of the beach and sea. A magical place to stay. If you're thinking of a special treat, it's absolutely worth it.

Silvertide wasn't just a great place to be physically, but also mentally - the direct sea view (and the odd kestrel swooping) allowed me to recharge my brain and lose myself for a few days in peaceful thoughts.

Amazing property, with beautiful views. The climb up and down is worth it, but pack light! Well equipped, which means you can stay in and enjoy the property and location or travel nearby for some excellent food. Would recommend Finnygook Inn in Crafthole

Comfortable beds. Views are perfect from inside and out. Warm throughout. Thoroughly recommend cafe at top of hill. Think it’s worth noting that there are no wardrobes at this property, just 3 walk hooks per bedroom plus a small chest of drawers.

Absolutely gorgeous! The view was stunning! A wonderful retreat, so quiet and peaceful, a fantastic hot tub, comfortable living spaces and pawfectly pet friendly.

A beautiful retreat with outstanding views. We will return as we had such a wonderful few days.

The most amazing location/ property to share with your special person.

We had a lovely relaxed stay at Silvertide. We really enjoyed the beautiful views across the bay, day and night, and the luxury of a glass of bubbly in the hot tub. It was a perfect break away after a crazy few weeks with our wedding!

A fabulous retreat with the most spectacular view and very much looking forward to our return later in the year

Excellent views, the ideal place to relax and unwind.

Beautiful located chalet chic interior with a vibe that makes you ‘kick back’ and chill! The only noise is the sea and gulls this is a location which enables you to go off grid and enjoy the view! Hot tub perfectly positioned and even in February we managed to sit out on the beautiful decking with a glass of wine and good book. You will not be disappointed.

Silvertide is an exceptional cliffside home; from the moment we arrived, we were met with an exquisite sunset and a warm welcome - the underfloor heating on a February day was just divine and a lovely hamper was the icing on the cake! The beds were super-comfy, and the huge hot tub just a dream. Whitsand Bay is just lovely, and there's so much to see and do in the area, it's a hidden away corner of Cornwall that's quieter than most areas. Truly a holiday to remember - if only we could have stayed longer! Thank you for letting us stay in your amazing retreat.

Excellent location exceeded my expectations!

Just fabulous! Couldn't have asked for more. Silvertide really made us feel like we were elsewhere while also presenting a lovely homely feel. Comfy, stylish, relaxing and spoilsome - and those views are incredible! Would definitely recommend.

Cottage was really beautiful! Perfect escape from the world and very secluded and private! Decorations and specs are very high quality, really enjoyable.

Stunning location, would definitely stay again.

An amazing lfind in a great location. We will definitely stay again

The best property we have ever stayed in, exceeded expectation, thank you so much. Roy & Catherine

It was a lovely stay and we would happily go there again. The extra bits they provided were a nice touch as well.

Spectacular location felt like you were on a cruise ship.

Silvertide was everything we hoped it would be; a superb location for our honeymoon. The property was spotless, well presented and the owners had provided everything we needed. They even left us a very kind honeymoon gift which we were incredibly grateful for.

The only thing to note is that the reserved parking is some distance from the property and the steps leading down the cliff are very steep - worth bearing in mind when packing your luggage! However the journey down the steps is worth it for the peace and tranquility of the coastline.

Wow…just about sums up our stay at Silvertide. Location is excellent, we adore Whitsand Bay and the SW Coast. The chalet has a very special feel to it, compact but also airy with everything you could want. Due to fab weather the wonderful deck was used during most of the waking hours. Not to mention the jaccuzi and BBQ. The interior provides a lovely relaxing chilled lounging area and kitchen has all mod cons plus some. The property and the area is pooch friendly so don’t leave your four legged friends at home. You know you’ve had a good time when you start planning your return immediately. 5 stars!

Beautiful house in a wonderful location. Would thoroughly recommend!

Simply wonderful!

Silvertide is absolutely incredible. You feel like you are completely away from the world, just you and the view. It was just what I needed. Thank you, I’ll be back.

We had a fabulous mid-week break. A real tonic to be away in such unique and beautiful surroundings.

Fantastic hidden gem. I felt like I spent a few days in a Cornish postcard with views that melt away all your stresses and strains.

'Wonderful relaxing break with fabulous views, despite the changeable weather. Extremely peaceful break - hardly any noisy seagulls. Watching the sea with the bi-fold doors open and the wood burner on made for an idyllic stay. Steps from the car park to the property and down to the beach are not for the fainthearted but the beach & scenery are absolutely worth it - keep an eye on the tide times! Hot tub was fabulous, even in the wind and rain. The View restaurant is well worth a visit. And do pay attention to the directions provided and adhere to the many ‘don’t follow your Sat Nav’ signs!' - October 2020

'Amazing location and views were outstanding! We had lots of comments from friends asking for the booking details when they saw our photos of Silvertide. Had everything we needed and check in and out was super easy. Had a great stay and will definitely use Boutique Retreats for other stays in the future' - September 2020

'Simply wonderful!' - August 2020

'Stunning location and very comfortable in a well presented accommodation.' - February 2020

'Wonderful relaxing few day! Enjoyed the buffeting and the calm. Spectacular views and deserted, unspoilt beaches - never done so many flights of stairs in so short a time. Look forward to returning.' - November 2019

'A wonderful place to chill out and relax (despite the terrifying 91mph gales on the 1st & 2nd November) Very well equipped and comfortable. Perfect place for a retreat away from busy life. Dinner at The View was amazing. Thanks for having us at such short notice, we would certainly come again.' - November 2019

'Fantastic hidden gem. I felt like I spent a few days in a Cornish postcard with views that melt away all your stresses and strains.' October 2019

'Great location and beautiful chalet. The Blue Plate in Downderry is worth a visit and we also loved The Carew Arms in Antony and the Devonport Arms. Thanks for having us.' - October 2019

'Stunning location and beautiful, such a well equipped chalet! We had a lovely week and managed to dodge the many periods of rain. Really relaxed and enjoyed our stay here.' - October 2019

'What an amazing place! We have not been blesssed with the weather this week but have had an amazing stay! What a stunning chalet! On our last day the sun came out & we enjoyed the view from the hot tub - stunning! Our legs are suitably aching from the walks!! :)' - September 2019
