There are three Castello restaurants and the first one opened in 2013 by three gentleman with 15 years’ worth of experience in the restaurant business, so these guys know how to instil the authentic Italian flavour into their dishes. Entering Castello in Frome you will be welcomed by the knowledgeable and chatty staff as well as the fun and retro interiors. With a window through to the kitchen, you can watch the chefs toss pizza dough and see how your favourite dish is made with skill and passion.
Inspired by Italian traditions and values, their generous portions were made for sharing in mind – so on their extensive and flavourful menu you can expect lots of antipasti and tapas dishes such as Insalata Rucola, rocket leaves with parmesan shavings with an olive oil and balsamic dressing, Polpette Al Pomodoro, beef and pork meatballs in a rich and spicy tomato sauce, and Cozze Alla Crema, mussels cooked in white wine, onion, herbs and double cream. Be sure to try their own comfort food of pasta and pizzas; tucked into one of their mouth-watering calzones or perhaps treat yourself to Penne Con Buffalo, roasted peppers, courgettes and aubergine in a tomato and basil sauce and served with buffalo mozzarella.
