Outside, there’s a fabulous terrace for alfresco dining (complete with outside fireplace) and lots of lawn space for children and a dog to play.
With splendid attention to detail, interiors have been beautifully restored and brought to life, creating blissfully tranquil spaces in gorgeous-hued loveliness. With underfloor heating downstairs and two wood burners, this is a stunning escape during cooler months too - what could be better than a Cornish Christmas?

Special lower occupancy rate
A special lower occupancy rate applies outside of peak times. At Cornish Barton, the discount for up to eight guests is 20%. At this rate, bedroom 'Anthos', bedroom 'Agate', bedroom 'Peignoir' and bedroom 'Orton' will be available for you., bedrooms 5, 6 and 7 are excluded.

Living
You’ll discover the huge sitting room on the first floor, where vaulted ceilings and exposed stone walls create an airy yet cosy space. A large, oh-so-comfy L-shaped sofa in smart velvet awaits, surrounding an equally huge wood burner, the perfect backdrop on cooler nights, with the lights low and the flicker of flames as your companion. In addition, there’s a games table complete with board games, a great selection of books and a 65" Smart TV.
On the ground floor there’s a charming study area, ideal if you want to catch up with an email or two or if your stay is a bit of a workcation.
Eating
The exquisite kitchen, accessed from the atrium hall, is just a dream and the perfect space for the budding or professional chef. With vaulted ceiling, Maxlight windows with stunning views over the garden and valley, underfloor heating, limestone floor, Tom Raffield lighting and a fabulous kitchen dining table, it not only looks stunning but comes equipped with everything you could possibly need, with electric hob, three ovens and a microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer plus everything else you could wish for to rustle up feasts and snacks. From here you have direct access on to the stunning breakfast balcony and huge terrace with table for fourteen, outdoor fireplace and gas fired barbeque.
Next to the kitchen lies the decadent dining room bar area with table for fourteen accompanied by wishbone chairs, underfloor heating, a roaring wood burning fire, Tom Raffield lighting and hand-crafted bar. The ultimate space for celebratory meals!
In addition, there’s a utility room with extra dishwasher, fridge, drinks fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer, drying area and storage.
Sleeping
There are seven gorgeous bedrooms at Cornish Barton, each named after the paint or fabrics used within them.
‘Anthos’ can be discovered on the top floor at the cottage end and boasts a handmade super king bed with padded headboards in Sanderson Anthos fabric. This is a zip and link bed which means it can be made up as twin beds should you prefer. Benefiting from a built-in hanging cupboard, it has pretty views over the garden. This room shares a bathroom with ‘Agate’.
‘Agate’ is an adorable twin bedroom with beautiful handmade twin beds adorned with padded headboards and built-in cupboard space.
‘Peignoir’ lies on the middle floor at the cottage end of the retreat. Revelling in a handmade super king bed with padded headboard in Lewis and Wood Bullfinch Santiago, it has a freestanding wardrobe and Graham and Green bedside chests of drawers. In addition, it has a wonderful window seat with views over the garden and an en suite bathroom with huge bath and hand shower.
‘Orton’ lies on the lower ground floor at the cottage end of Tregrylls Barton and boasts a handmade super king bed with padded headboard Romo Orton. With a freestanding wardrobe, it has gorgeous French windows that lead out on to the garden and its own private terrace. It benefits from an en suite shower room and access to an outdoor shower.
‘Brassica’ lies on the top floor at the Bothy end of the house and has a king sized, handmade bed with padded headboard in Andrew Martin linen. With delightful views over the courtyard garden, it shares a bathroom with 'Calluna'.
‘Calluna’ lies on the top floor and is an adorable twin room with an extra velvet upholstered ‘Bed in a Box’ for a possible third person. The twin beds are handmade with padded headboards in Lewis and Wood Etienne and it also has a wardrobe.
‘Oasis’ lies on the ground floor at the Bothy end of the house and has a king sized bed with padded headboard in Lewis and Wood Boukhara fabric. With views on to the courtyard gardens plus a walk-in double shower with double basins.
All of the beds come swathed in luxurious linens, super-soft bedding and sumptuous throws and cushions to ensure a blissful nights’ sleep. All of the en suites and bath/shower rooms have heated rails to keep towels warm and fluffy.
Setting
Cornish Barton enjoys a wonderful rural setting, much loved by the people who live in it. Due to its peaceful location and the echo round the valley, we kindly ask our guests to respect our neighbour's peace and privacy and not to play excessive or loud music outside.
Outdoor space
The garden is a delightful escape, affording laid back luxury with a stunning terrace on which a table and chairs for fourteen resides, complete with gas fired barbeque and a gorgeous open fireplace - the perfect setting for twilight dinner parties and sunshine-filled lunches. There’s a fabulous emerald lawn for fun-filled games, whilst a wonderful open firepit lies in the Scrape at bottom of the field. One of the bedrooms, ‘Orton’, boasts its own private terrace.
Parking
There is off road, private parking with access to an electric car charging point.
Babies and children
Babies and children are most welcome. Two highchairs are provided, and a stairgate can be installed across the top of stairs in both bedroom areas on request. Please note that due to the design of the main staircase, stairgates cannot be installed here.
Dogs
Up to two dogs are very welcome at Cornish Barton. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.
In the area
Tucked away in the countryside yet just ten minutes from the glorious north Cornish coastline, this is a stunning retreat from which to explore. Head to the coast and you can join the South West Coastal Path in either direction for stupendous, scenery-loaded walks whilst inland you'll find ancient woodland and Minster Church, a spiritual site since the 6th century. The village of Boscastle itself has plenty of places to visit or get a bite to eat and drink, whilst Boscastle Farm Shop is the perfect spot for buying fabulous local produce, plus there's a café too. Just up the coast you’ll discover Tintagel, famed abode of King Arthur, whilst magical St Nectan’s Glen is a stunning natural phenomenon. Further along the coast the beautiful sandy beach of Trebarwith Strand awaits, whilst Port Isaac is a gorgeous seaside village with exceptional restaurants. The incredible Camel Estuary is a must and foodie capital Padstow is well worth a visit. Head inland to mysterious Bodmin Moor for raw wilderness, whilst there's an abundance of beaches nearby for windswept walks during winter or long sunny days swimming; Crackington Haven, Bude, Widemouth Bay, Bossiney Cove and Polzeath are well worth a visit.
