For a touch of magic in the wilderness, look no further than this beauty. A bespoke shepherds hut, carefully paired with a glamourous Bedouin tent and accompanied by a wood-fired hot tub, it is the ultimate woodland escape for those seeking an escape from the everyday.
Surrounded by woodland with glimpses of the surrounding Cornish countryside, peace reigns in this tucked-away spot, a glorious hideaway for two, plus your furry friend is most welcome too should you have one. Private pottery lessons, and spa treatments in the Bedouin tent can be booked in advance or why not have a picnic in the surrounding woodland? Moonshine really is a retreat away from it all.
Should you wish to go out and explore the best of Cornwall, Moonshine is the perfect holiday home for you. Although it's tucked away, Moonshine is only a 15-minute drive to Perranporth (recently named the best beach in the South West in The Sunday Time's 50 Best Beaches in the UK), your nearest beach on the north Cornish coast. You're also just a short drive from Cornwall's capital Truro and 40 minutes from bustling Falmouth on the south coast, so there's plenty of choice, whatever your tastes may be.
Living, eating and sleeping
Set at the far end of a peaceful estate, Moonshine sits just in front of woodland, surrounded by trees and with a small orchard set in front. Step up and into the main shepherd hut and you'll find a cosy space, bedecked in blues and whites. During the day, there's seating and a dining table to the right, whilst at night this easily transforms into an oh-so-comfy double bed, that's cleverly tucked away in the wall when not needed. From bed you can gaze out of the window over the tranquil orchard - just lovely! You'll find storage space under the bench seats to store your things.
For eating, there's a charming kitchen area with ceramic hob, a fridge, kettle, toaster and French press coffee pot. In addition, the fire pit outside is great for barbequing. To keep the space oh-so-cosy whatever time of year it is, there's a fabulous wood burner that'll keep you warm.
Just a few steps away lies the Bedouin tent, a wonderful space for relaxing in complete with chairs, cushions to sprawl on and games to play. There's also a handy chest of drawers for storing belongings should you need it. At night, the twinkling lights that bedeck the tent add a luminosity to the space that's truly magical.
The Bedouin tent will be unavailable between 8th October 2024 and 18th April 2025.
Please note that Moonshine is equipped with WiFi and a smart speaker, but no television for that ultimate getaway-from-it-all experience.
Bathing
Moonshine has a shower room for wake-me-up ablutions or after a busy day out exploring. A heated rail means towels are always kept warm and fluffy.

Between the shepherds hut and tent lies the wood-fired hot tub, a fabulous luxury for this amazing retreat and just perfect for lounging in to watch the stars above at night, listening to the sounds of owls with a glass of something special in hand, or for relaxing tired limbs after a long coastal walk. In addition, there's a fire pit with log stools and sheepskin rugs, just made for toasting s'mores or marshmallows, whilst there's a grill to go on top, ideal for barbequing. For relaxing there's a pair of steamer lounge chairs as well as outdoor bean bags - ideal for lazing on a hot summer's afternoon. Alternatively, take yourselves off into the private woodland behind you, and set up camp amongst the trees and admire the bucolic views of the fields and hedgerows beyond- a picnic here is just lovely!
