For a touch of magic in the wilderness, look no further than this hidden beauty. A bespoke shepherds hut, carefully paired a glamorous Bedouin tent and accompanied by a wood-fired hot tub, Stargazer is the ultimate escape for those looking to flee the everyday.

Surrounded by undulating Cornish countryside, peace reigns in this tucked-away spot, a glorious hideaway for two, plus your four-legged friend is most welcome too. Private pottery lessons, and spa treatments in the Bedouin tent can be booked in advance or why not have a picnic in the surrounding woodland? Stargazer really is a retreat away from it all.

Should you wish to go out and explore the best of Cornwall, Stargazer is the perfect sanctuary. Although it's tucked away, Stargazer is only a 15-minute drive to Perranporth (recently named the best beach in the South West in The Sunday Time's 50 Best Beaches in the UK), your nearest beach on the north Cornish coast. You're also just a short drive from Cornwall's capital Truro and 40 minutes from bustling Falmouth on the south coast, so there's plenty of choice, whatever your tastes may be.

Living, eating and sleeping

Set in a quiet raised position in a peaceful estate, Stargazer sits overlooking gorgeous rolling countryside, surrounded by a pretty hedgerow and next to a Japanese Zen garden. Step up and into the main shepherd's hut and you'll find a cosy space, bedecked in duck egg blues and whites. During the day, there's seating and a dining table to the left, whilst at night this easily transforms into an oh-so-comfy double bed, that's cleverly tucked away in the wall when not needed. From bed you can gaze out over the countryside from the window opposite, perfect for breakfast in bed with a view! You'll find storage space under the bench seats to store your things.

For eating, there's a charming kitchen area with ceramic hob, a fridge, kettle, toaster and French press coffee pot. In addition, the fire pit outside is great for barbequing. To keep the space oh-so-cosy whatever time of year it is, there's a fabulous wood burner that'll keep you warm.

Just a few steps away lies the Bedouin tent, a wonderful space for relaxing in complete with chairs, cushions to sprawl on and games to play. There's also a handy chest of drawers for storing belongings should you need it. At night, the twinkling lights that bedeck the tent add a luminosity to the space that's truly magical.

The Bedouin tent will be unavailable between 8th October 2024 and 18th April 2025.

Please note that Stargazer is equipped with WiFi and a smart speaker, but no television for that ultimate getaway-from-it-all experience.

Bathing

Stargazer has a shower room for wake-me-up ablutions or after a busy day out exploring. A heated rail means towels are always kept warm and fluffy.

Outdoor space

Next to the shepherds hut lies the stupendous wood-fired hot tub, a fabulous luxury for this amazing retreat and just perfect for lounging in to watch the sun set over the fields and countryside in front of you, listening to the sounds of owls with a glass of something special in hand, or for relaxing tired limbs after a long coastal walk. In addition, there's a fire pit with log stools and sheepskin rugs, just made for toasting s'mores or marshmallows, whilst there's a grill to go on top, ideal for barbequing. For relaxing there's a pair of steamer lounge chairs as well as outdoor bean bags - ideal for lazing on a hot summer's afternoon. Alternatively, take yourselves off into the private woodland along the path, and set up camp amongst the trees and admire the bucolic views of the fields and hedgerows beyond - a picnic here is just lovely!

Setting

There is a public footpath that runs along the gravelled drive to the rear of the hut. Please be aware that whilst this rarely used you might note walkers from time to time.

Parking

There is off road, private parking for one car at Stargazer, with access to an electric car charging point. The Owners will kindly ask for a contribution for use of this throughout your stay. Payment can be arranged during your stay with owner.

Babies and children

This is one of our adults-only retreats.

Dogs

Stargazer welcomes one small, well-behaved dog. There's an outside tap and hose for washing muddy toes. The woodland and garden aren't enclosed, so please always supervise your dog and keep them on a lead if they are prone to wandering off. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.

More than two of you?

The estate is shared with one other shepherds hut - Moonshine. So, if you're looking to stay with another friend or couple, they can be booked together.

In the Area

Head north and you'll discover a coastline that's wild and wonderful, full of drama with amazing clifftop walks. There's also a host of places to visit, from St Ives and the Heritage coast of St Agnes with its disused mines and epic sandy beaches, right up to Crantock, Mawgan Porth and Padstow. Head south and you'll find a softer coastline, from the creeks and woodland of the Helford River to Malpas, Trelissick, the King Harry Ferry and the incredibly beautiful Roseland Peninsula. Truro with its magnificent cathedral and excellent array of shops is perfect for those seeking the hustle and bustle, whilst Falmouth is a wonderful seaside town with the National Maritime Museum, Pendennis Castle and fabulous places to eat and ferries across to St Mawes and Flushing. The Longest Beaches in Cornwall

Cornwall is home to many beautiful beaches: the golden frontiers between land and sea. But which are the longest beaches in Cornwall, and where can you find them?

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Stargazer:

Beautiful location, cute hut, lovely and tranquil.

Really peaceful retreat, fabulous views.

A beautifully designed and very comfortable shepherds hut set in lovely countryside. The location is nicely tucked away but well placed for exploring Cornwall.

We loved our stay, it was very comfortable and there were a lot of thoughtful touches. It was a great base from which to explore all Cornwall has to offer. J & M xx

View was outstanding. So clean and tidy. Request fire wood and the owners delivered to us. Very quiet and did not get bothered by the owners or anyone - which is exactly what we were looking for.

We were looking for a holiday in Cornwall that gave us opportunity to relax, switch off and explore if we wanted to - this was it. Whilst small (Shepherds Hut), it was beautiful, totally private and just what we were hoping for. To sit in the Hot Tub and hear only bird song whilst looking out across Cornish countryside was a highlight. Perfectly placed to explore some of Cornwall’s treats, with most places no more than an hour away. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing retreat, the woodland is lovely for taking the dog for a walk, the highlight for us was the hot tub and the views.

We had a dreamy time in the stargazer tiny house. We are so sad our private and peaceful little trip has come to an end! We loved the beautiful silence, and the coziness of the accommodation. And a total highlight was being able to heat up the hot tub and listen to the sounds of nature, and feel the cool winter breeze on our faces, while being nice and warm.

Sarah and Helen took care of everything perfectly, thank you.

We can’t wait to come back.
