Surrounded by the rolling pastoral charms of Devon's rich countryside, Weekemoor is a blissful escape into tranquillity. With rural surroundings, our dreamy dog-friendly cottage enjoys rustic appeal at every turn, from the stone fireplace with a flickering wood burning stove, to the wistful writing desk that whispers of days gone by. Tucked away in the countryside, you have a myriad of choices for memorable outings, whether you prefer hazy coastal scenes or are looking to uncover the rugged wilds of Dartmoor.

Living and eating

Carefully curated for cosy evenings and days spent disappearing into a book, the elegant living room at our characterful cottage awaits for evenings spent hunkering down and enjoying fireside moments. Two beautiful sofas and a soft-touch ottoman takes centre stage across from the stone fireplace and warming wood burner, which occasional chairs ensure there's a spot for all. The window seat makes for a perfect reading nook, whilst double doors open out onto the bucolic terrace, providing an easy flow between the oh-so-wholesome living room and the beckoning oasis of the garden. A Smart TV sits in the corner, while an adorable antique writing desk offers a place to jot down your travel reveries.

Through the double archway, the open-plan kitchen and dining area promise decadent meals with loved ones, while an exquisite wooden table set amongst stunning rustic furniture and décor is perfect for lazy brunches admiring countryside vistas. Double doors lead straight onto the terrace where an outdoor table lends itself perfectly for evenings of laid-back frivolity and food as the sun sets beneath the surrounding trees.

The delicately styled kitchen boasting grey-blue cabinets, has everything you should need during your getaway, including a Smeg Range cooker with induction hob, fridge freezer with ice machine, microwave, dishwasher and the all-important coffee machine for your favourite morning blend.

Situated on the ground floor with serene garden views and access to the peaceful terrace beyond, the first bedroom is simply a dream. With rustic bedside tables, patchwork prints, and pretty paintings of rural scenery, this is a wonderful setting to unwind.

A sleek family bathroom with a bathtub and an overhead shower resides on the ground floor, along with a heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy.

The second bedroom, also located on the ground floor continues the wistfully elegant hues enjoyed throughout Weekemoor. A charming alcove nestles into the wall above the bed, with a reading light ready for curling up with your latest page turner, whilst a matching side table and chest of drawers, each painted in a beautiful sea foam shade, provide ample storage for your belongings.

Upstairs, the third bedroom in gorgeous grey tones with rustic additions ensures endless country charm. You'll find two bedside tables, a cushioned bench, a chest of drawers, and an occasional chair.

The beautiful en suite bathroom boasts a fabulous built-in bath with an overhead shower and a heated rail, all surrounded with gorgeous marble panelling.

With reaching views that drift over treetops and rolling hills, bedroom four is a masterclass in peace and tranquillity. Relaxed textures and tones weave their way through the room, creating a lovely space to rest after a day exploring the dappled Devonshire countryside. At either side of the bed, two wooden trays promise breakfasts in bed and delightfully slow mornings. You will also find an occasional chair.

In the en suite bathroom you'll find a wonderfully spacious overhead shower with a patterned ceramic sink, adding a touch of charm to the space.

The Longest Beaches in Cornwall

Cornwall is home to many beautiful beaches: the golden frontiers between land and sea. But which are the longest beaches in Cornwall, and where can you find them?

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Weekemoor:

Stylish and super comfy with everything we needed provided.

Weekemore is simply outstanding. The locations is peaceful and yet well positioned for trips to the beach, local towns etc. The house is beautifully designed by the owner - using furnishings from her own, local, interior design business. Bedrooms and bathrooms are excellent and the entertaining areas are perfect. Highly recommended

We had an amazing family time and we all loved the house and all the extra facilities. Great to be able to wander down to the river. Perfect.

Weekemoor is an incredibly comfortable house, beautifully furnished with a. fabulous kitchen. The owners had thought of everything from generous firewood to milk in the fridge for tea. The beds and down duvets were so comfy. The fluffy towels and waffle bathrobes were very welcome too. It was a bonus having a charging point for our hybrid car. Although off the beaten track, the house is well situated near to beaches, farm shops and woodland walks. We felt very fortunate to find this beautiful home and really hope to return - thank you!

Set in a super location almost at the end of a single track road down into the beautiful upper reaches of the Avon River valley. Surrounded by fields and woods, with the river running along the bottom of the property, it is silent at night (apart from the owls!). With many large (and double glazed) windows, the house is light and airy, and has views south across the valley. In summer it must be delightful to sit outside and enjoy the setting. Inside, the house is tastefully furnished with neutral colours and soft furnishings. The house has a very well equiped kitchen abnd utility room. Beds and bedding a super soft and comfortable. It was one of the two best Retreats we have stayed in.

My family had a wonderful Christmas at Weekemoor ! The owners were super helpful and the House was Beautiful and comfortable with superb facilities! A memory we won’t forget ! Caslin Family December 2023

A lovely, comfortable retreat

A beautifully isolated and located, virtually pristine house. Very comfortable and peaceful. Beautifully decorated and cleverly converted.

We’ve stayed here before and know it’s just a fabulous house with an amazing garden down to the river.

Lovely, spacious property - airy in the day but cosy at night. A little bit off the beaten track but the advantage of that is that the property is quiet and private.

Beautiful house in a lovely location!

It was lovely - the location and access to the river through fields was great, the house was well equipped and all the rooms were very comfortable (especially the beds, they were amazing!)

We loved the peace and tranquility of the cottage, it’s a stunning location, and we really enjoyed all the wonderful home furnishings. We appreciated the beautiful flowers and drinks fridge on our arrival too! The beds and quality of the towels and linen was high quality also which always makes a difference. A treat to have the log burning stove all prepared and waiting for us. Thank you.
