If you’re looking for some inspiration, check out our suggestions below for places to see and stay with your dog. Alternatively you can look at all of our dog friendly luxury cottages and let our fab retreats sway you!

CORNWALL

Cornwall is a fab dog friendly destination - with over 400 miles of coastline to explore, there’s plenty of natural attractions on offer from the dramatic beauty of the Lizard in the far west to the wide and wild beaches of the north coast. Further inland there’s plenty to do with dogs too with standing stones, ancient holy wells to discover, castles and gardens galore. There are plenty of eateries and pubs which happily welcome dogs, but we think that sometimes there’s nothing better than getting a fresh bundle of fish and chips – maybe sharing a chip or two with your furry companion (just watch out for seagulls!). See here for our dog friendly luxury cottages in Cornwall.

COTSWOLDS

Think the Cotswolds and you immediately think of rolling hills, pretty sandstone cottages, quaint villages and cosy pubs – and you’d be right. This lovely area is brim-full of character and also fab for dogs. There’s the Cotswold Way – a meandering 100 mile trail through the Cotswolds from Chipping Campden to Bath. We’re not suggesting you walk it all (even canines get tired!) but there are lovely sections to walk, even better when they run past an inn or two. There’s lots of other dog-friendly places such as the Cotswold Wildlife Park where rhinos roam alongside a stately home, a couple of lovely arboretums, a water park and plenty of lovely eateries such as The Lion Inn in Winchcombe or the Cotswold Arms in Burford. DEVON

From towing your dog with you on a bike ride and exploring the wilderness of Dartmoor to walking the South West Coast Path and rockpooling, Devon is the epitome of outdoor living and is perfect for pooches. Most of the beaches are dog-friendly at various times of the year so you’ll always have plenty to choose from. For something a little different why not try some steam – train, boat or tram? Most companies are happy to welcome dogs on board. Here are our dog friendly cottages in Devon

SOMERSET

This lovely county has lots to offer with lush rolling hills, woodland and dog-friendly beaches. It’s also got some great places to visit that welcome dogs such as the dramatic Cheddar Gorge and Caves. Home to the lush Quantock, Blackdown and Mendip Hills, the Somerset Levels and two thirds of Exmoor National Park, the focus here is very much on the countryside, making it perfect for pooches. With all that walking and exploring you’ll need somewhere fab to eat, and luckily there are plenty of inns and pubs that happily accept dogs like The Carew Arms, nestled in The Quantock Hills. Here are our dog friendly luxury cottages in Somerset.

HAMPSHIRE

The New Forest has to be a doggie’s dream destination, with miles of forest, heathland and coastline to explore. There are lots of dog-friendly beaches such as Milford-On-Sea with its swathe of shingle beach and cute beach huts lining the front, Lee-on-Solent famed for its waters ports and Hayling Island. There are also some excellent dog-friendly pubs to be found including The Waggon & Horses in Lymington, the pub made famous by Jimi Hendrix.
