Setting off from Boutique HQ, we excitedly discussed our activities for the day as we ventured towards the picturesque Roseland Peninsula. Winding through quaint Cornish villages and quiet country lanes, we soon arrived at the Carne Bay Spa, where an Escape Day experience awaited us for an indulgent afternoon of pampering and relaxation, with full use of the leisure facilities, an hour-long spa treatment and a delicious three-course meal. The boutique spa is part of The Nare, an exclusive five-star country house hotel perched above the sandy shores of Carne Beach, with breath-taking views across Gerrans Bay.
We were greeted by the friendly Front of House team, who gave us a tour of the facilities before directing us to the beautiful spa, situated in a calming corner of the hotel. The lovely massage therapists Anne and Natasha talked us through the extensive range of therapies available, ranging from essential oil massages to reflexology and facials. We chose the ‘Look and Feel Good’ and ‘Stress Buster’ massages, which promised to de-stress and rejuvenate, leaving us feeling totally relaxed and wishing that our hour-long treatments could have been everlasting.
We slipped on our cloud-soft robes and slippers, making our way to the outdoor pool area, with blissful ocean vistas and luxe loungers, perfectly positioned for basking in the afternoon sun. We spent time unwinding on the sun loungers, before taking a dip in the heated pools and relaxing beneath the bubbles of the outdoor hot tub.
It was soon time to retreat to the Quarterdeck Restaurant, where we were seated on the sun-soaked patio, with beautiful ocean views across the sheltered bay. We enjoyed fresh summer salads and delicious fruity desserts, soaking up the atmosphere beneath the blue skies and beaming rays before heading home after our soul-soothing day.
