Nestled in the rolling Devon countryside, Thornes farm has been in place for hundreds of years, with 125 acres of land growing soft fruit and vegetables – and strawberries their speciality. The shop was established in 1992.
With freshly-picked produce from the fields every day, as well as bread, meat, milk, yoghurts, cream eggs and pastries (and a host of other things including some gorgeous gifts and crafts created in Devon), there’s also a delicatessen on site so you’ll find everything you need to create feasts back at home. And with local beers, ciders and wine for sale too, you’ll not go thirsty either!
In addition to the shop, there’s a lovely café on site from everything from coffee and cake to light lunches.
Open Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 5.30pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm and 10am to 4pm on Sundays during June, July and August.
