The folks down at The Riverford Field Kitchen are connoisseurs and pioneers of creating unique and flavourful vegetable dishes, made from the ingredients grown in their very own farm and kitchen garden.
Riverford is famous for its fresh and tasty produce which has been growing in Buckfastleigh in Devon since 1987. You can now sample that fresh and organic taste in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere at The Riverford Field Kitchen. This establishment praises itself on making vegetables the key and main ingredient of every dish as their slogan states “Never the side dish, always the star”. Using and growing the organic produce from their farms, their menu constantly changes and is always inspired by the latest seasonal crops so there’s always something new and innovative to get your taste buds going.
This charming kitchen likes to approach things a little differently. Veering away from a traditional restaurant, The Riverford Field Kitchen likes to serve its guest a flow of six to eight dishes, promoting relaxed eating and a chilled-out atmosphere which you can make the most of for two and a half hours. Everyone is served at the same time and with the same delicious set menu. Guests will usually find themselves sat with others at the same table to share in both the food platters and in conversation; a wonderful environment to discuss dishes, taste something new and make friends.
Though the menu is always changing, there have been some popular dishes that are worth noting such as its Whole Roasted Cauliflower with Salsa Verde, Beef Bavette with Braised Funnel & Chimichurri, Beetroot & Clementine Salad with Mustard & Hazelnuts and Roast Leg of Lamb with Pomegranate, Honey, Crispy Sage & Garlic Yogurt. If you still have some room for dessert after the extensive and delicious set menu, you will be invited up to try some of their tantalizing deserts such as their gooey Chocolate Coconut Cake, their tart and fruity Blueberry Mouse and their Lemon Mascarpone Cheesecake with Redcurrants and Blackcurrants.
If you’re feeling inspired after your mouth-watering eating session, The Riverford Field Kitchen hosts a wide range of events and workshops where you can learn the tricks of the trade. There are a variety of things to enjoy such as two-hour cooking demos, vegetable masterclasses, learning how to grow your own vegetable and flowers – plus festive events such as learning how to make your own wreath and learning how to create your own Christmas Foodie Gift. If you’re wanting to use the exact same ingredients as these wonderful and knowledge chefs, you can even order the same produce used in their dishes on the Riverford website!
So if you’re looking for a relaxing atmosphere, a taste of something fresh, organic and unique and perhaps some inspiration to take back home to your own kitchen – then The Riverford Field Kitchen is the place to be to get those taste buds tingling.
